The card I have to show you today is for my niece. The image, I have had for sometime, not sure where from, coloured using promarkers. 7x7 card blank, backing paper is from papermania Capsule Perisienne Blue, flowers cut with Stampin Up petit petals punch. Greeting, pearls and backing card all from my statsh.

I have followed the sketch over on Tuesday Morning Sketches here and am entering it into their challenge this week.

Bodium Castle and Batemans

Last Christmas my friend bought us an English Heritage Membership to use, then we decided to join National Trust as well but up til now we haven't visited any places so last week we decided it was about time we did. The weather was beautiful s we decided to go over to Bodium Castle in East Sussex. I am a great fan of Castles and this one didn't let me down.

From the outside it looks intact but inside it is a ruin. It was really interesting looking around it and we listened to a talk on how it was built. If you ever get the chance to visit then you should :-)

The moat is one the largest one surrounding a castle in this area.

The fish in the moat are huge!

We spent a few hours at Bodium and after having a bit of lunch we drove over to visit Batemans - the home of Rudyard Kipling. The house is very nice as are the gardens although I think we visited at the wrong time as the flowers were dying but I think in the height of the season they should be lovely.

This is a picture of the Gift Shop which is an Oast House

Afternoon tea - don't mind if I do :-)

Fabby day and the first of many.

My Little Boy Turns 28!!

Last Wednesday - 24th- was my youngest son's 28th birthday. As both him and his girlfriend were working on his birthday, she arranged a surprise party for him at a restaurant in town and got all his mates to turn up. We had a gret night and here is a picture of him with his cake she had made. It was an X-Box complete with controllers and his favourite game! All was edible and very nice it was too!!

He is a great fan of Marvel and DC so here is the card that I made for him. It was designed in CAP and then printed out. His name and the character were then decoupaged.

A different card for us...

.......at workshop last week, but more of that in a moment. Today, my friend and I went down the The Hilton Metropole to Schmoo By the Sea Beauty Salon where we had a back massage and a facial and this was followed a lovely afternoon tea. (I meant to take a picture of the tea but was so hungry when it came that I forgot!! :-) ) However it was very nice and very enjoyable. Here is a picture of us waiting for my hubby to pic us up!

Now back to the card...we haven't done a card like this at Clair's workshop but it was fun doing. Both the backgrounds were made using inks and stamps ( they started off as white!). The stamp set is MFT one 'Your Super' and the matching dies. The word 'WOW' is actually 'MOM' upside down. The images were coloured with promarkers.

A walk, nostalgia and very sore feet..

One of the things on my 'to do list/bucket list' was o walk from where I live in Southwick, all along the coast to Rottingdean and then get the number 2 bus back to Southwick going through Woodingdean ( this was where I was brought up!) and Brighton. So last week we decided to get it done.

The walk was a long 8.2 miles but that didn't stop us!. We stopped off at 'The Meeting Place' a cafe on Hove Lawns for a cuppa, then we stooped to watch the I360 go up. Stopped off at the Palace Pier (well it's called Brighton Pier now but it will always be the Palace Pier to me) and then walked onto the Marina for some lunch.

After lunch we then continued our walk along the undercliff to Rottingdean. Lots of memories were remembered walking along there. Last time I walked along that bit I was with my Mum. We used to do it often growing up! I even think she was with us as we walked.

Once we arrive at Rotting dean we then caught the bus home all through Woodingdean where more memories were remembered.

It was a day of nostalgia and very sore feet!

Altnew Persian Motifs

It's not often that I get an idea in my head about a card and it actually materializes into reality but this time it did.

The card I have to show you today was made for a very good friend of mine (well she is like my sister) We used these stamps from Altnew some time ago at Clair's workshop and I had to buy them as I loved the way they stamped. The idea for the card came mainly from one I saw on Pintrest bit I have adjusted it slightly.

The stamped greeting is from a wooden stamp that I have in my stash. It was one that I purchased following a class I had with Mel Heaton. The images were stamped onto the card and then coloured using my Promarkers. The whole thing was then stuck on foam pads onto the front a blank card.
