Anniversary Card

WOW how hot has it been....still mustn't complain we don't get to enjoy this weather much..

Back top the cards today. I got the idea for this one from a fellow blogger Janice over at My Craft Room Makes. Pop over to her blog and take a look at her brilliant cards.

The heart die was cut a couple of times and stuck together to give it some depth. It was a bit of a so and so to cut out but managed it after a lot of swearing!! I then paper pieced the hearts. Greeting was stamped directly onto the card.

Nice simple card.

Amazing what you can do with a couple of tins!

This year was our 10th year up to Appleby Magna so some of  the projects related to tin.

These started off as bean tin and a tuna tin. The tuna time was transformed into a tea light holder using household pegs, some hessian and buttons. Some people painted their buttons but I left mine natural.

With the larger can, I first painted the top and bottom of it and then decorated it with hessian, ribbon, string and a button.

There are so many possibilities. Time to keep all my old tins now.

Paint Pouring

Today I have a project to show you that once again took me out of my comfort zone. This one we did up in Appleby Magna, my crafty week week with good friends. This was one of Deb's projects.

Basically you start with a blank canvas and a you layer acrylic paint into a cup. turn it over and then let the paint pour over the canvas. My colours, surprise surprise were blues and purples. I think it looks  like a large whale. :-)

Apart from the fact that it was very messy, I did enjoy doing it... although I don't think I will be doing at home :-)

Something a bit Different.

Ok so those of you that know me know that I do not do messy especially when crafting, however over the past couple of months I have been doing crafts that I didn't think I would do. The craft retreat at The Papeterie in Aberdeen and my week away with my crafty buddies have certainly brought me out of my comfort zone. :-) Over the next few posts I will show you what I have been up to. A nice rest from cards !

The first project I have to show you is one from The Papeterie designed by Charlotte. You take a normal clipboard and cover it in chalk paint. We used Americana Decor Chalk Paint. Then using stencils or just free hand - decorate it with texture paste. I did use a stencil but I am not too good with it. You can decorate it with distress inks etc. As much as you want. You then get wax crayons and using a hot gun, melt them so that they run down the board to make a pattern. Have to say I did quite enjoy doing this. No two projects are the same. A sentiment was stamped onto the bard and them an umbrella cut from glitter card was stuck on.

You could have put the crayons on the back so that you could still use the clipboard but I decided I just wanted it as decoration in my craft room.

Anniversary Card

What a lovely day it has been. Lovely and warm even got chance today to sit out in the garden.

The card I have to show you today is an anniversary card I made for an old friend and her hubby. The image is a digi one that I got via etsy. The main panel was designed in Craft Artist Professional and then printed off. Matted onto black and white card. The greeting was computer generated. Have just added 4 gems for a bit of sparkle.

Hunkydory Birthday

Had a busy day today looking after my youngest Grandson this morning and then I have been sorting out my stamps.

The card I have to show you today is one I made a while back. A male card made using Hunkydory kit. Can't remember which one but I used the topper sheet, backing card and insert. Love using Hunkydory kits.

Card Made from Graphic 45 papers

Hi I have just come back from a lovely week with my crafty friends on our annual crafting retreat. This was our 10th year and probably our final year at that location. When we started there were 17/18 people it is now down to 6 :-). Bit sad but I am sure we will find somewhere else to meet up. I will be posting my projects made over the next few posts.

The card I have to show you today was one I made up in Aberdeen on my crafty retreat. We made 3 cards during that workshop all using Graphic 45 - Botanical papers. I have never used these papers before and I really enjoyed using them.

Workshop Card

So today I finally got up in my craft room and started crafting. It is so nice to have everything sorted so I know what I have and where it is. I am away from Monday for a week so will schedule some cards that I have made recently at workshops and some O made today and ones that I will make over the weekend.

The card I have to show you today is one that I made at Clair & Sharni's workshop on 31st May.

This is such a sweet image from Whimsy Stamps. This one is called Daphne.  I have coloured her with water coloured  pens. The original sample had 'Thanks on it but I decided that I wanted 'Happy Birthday'
