Bubble Trees & Baubles

5th November and another craft class at the Glitterpot with Jane Gill. This time using her Bubble tree and bauble stamps and peel offs.

This first card was using the bubble tree stamp. The card was an A5 card stuck together on the shorter edge. A ribbon tied to the side. The bubble tree was decorated with various gems, brads, stickles and seed beads. The greeting was embossed using a Crafts Too embossing folder.

This card is a triangular card again using various brads, buttons, gems etc to decorate it.
In the morning we did the bauble. This first card was done on a tall A4 sheet. Decorated again with brads, beads, buttons, seed beads and stickles. A ribbon was used and a bow. A gold peel off finishes the card off.
This was a c6 card. A piece of separate card was embossed using a Crafts Too folder. The bauble used is a peel off and decorated as the above.

Trees, Trees and more trees

On the 3oth October I had another craft class at the Glitterpot with Pam. The class again was ran by Jane Gill and the theme was 'trees'.

In the morning class we made the following 2 trees. Although you can't tell from the picture, they are both tall cards made from folding an A4 sheet of card vertically.

The first one was made by cutting a base tree and then using strips of different coloured green card/paper, stick together to form a layered tree. The edges were cut with a Martha Stewart edger. A few eyelets and gems were added. Trunk made from a piece of card and a ribbon tied round. The letters were embossed from a Crafts Too embossing folder and then stickles added. The word 'Christmas' was a stamp.

This card, again is an A4 tall card. The tree is made from a triangular template. Each layer was then cut again, an inch shorter than the previous layer. These again were edged with a Martha Stewart punch. The tree was then stuck together and then stuck on the base card. A ribbon was tied round the top and then the discarded snowflakes for the punch edge were used to decorate it. The greeting was stamped and then the word 'tree' which hasn't come out well was agin done with the Crafts Too embossing folder.

In the afternoon we made cards using Jane's own stamp set. The tree stamp comes in bits and is very versatile.

With the first card, the tree was stamped and embossed. The middle bits were then cut away. The tree was then layered onto another piece of card. The message was stamped onto shrink plastic and then shrunk down. It was then tied to the tree. The side panel edge was punched using a Martha Stewart edger. A piece of ribbon was then tied round and the panel stuck to the left hand side of the card. The rosette was made with a strip of paper, concertinered into a rosette shape. A couple of gems were then added to finish it off.

This tree was made with the same stamp but different bits of the tree were stamped onto different coloured paper. You can then assemble the tree as you like as long as it's a tree shape. A few gems and sparkly stickers were used to decorate the tree. A piece of ribbon was used to finish it off. The card is a mini DL card.

Some Family Cards

Over the last week or so I have been trying to catch up with the rest of the cards for the year for my family and friends so that I can start on some Christmas ones.

The first card is for my niece Samantha who is 18. She is a bit of a tomboy and plays a lot of football. I thought this image from Kenny K suited her. I coloured her with promarkers. The paper etc was from my stash. The greeting is computer generated. I used a Martha Stewart edging punch, a piece of ri.bbon, a flower and some card candy to finish it off.

This card is for my oldest niece, another Sam. The image was from a few I got from Kaz at Appleby Magna. I just stuck it onto a piece of card and cut it out. The backing paper was from a magazine that had Art Deco. I added some gems and a peel off greeting.

This card is for my brother in law. The image of course is a flipping image decoupage. The paper and card is from my stash. I used a greeting from Craftwork Cards and some card candy to finish it off.
The following 2 cards are for the anniversaries of my very good friends Cyd and Fel and my nephew and his wife. The first card uses an Cuttlebug embossing folder nested on black card. Black ribbon added and a stamped greeting.

This card is a bought topper matted onto silver card. Sizzix hearts and a silver peel off. The paper is from my stash. The edge was cut using a Martha Stewart punch.

This card was made for my mother in law. If was from a pad of paper - can't remember which one..oops! Added a flower and ribbon. It's a bit fussy but hopefully she will like it.

Glitterpot Class - 22nd October - Afternoon

The afternoon class at the Glitterpot was again with Jackie. This time we used Sizzix dies - Snowman and Deer. Some more DP and embellishments and a ribbon.

Glitterpot Class - 22nd October

This was a class with Jackie Huckstepp at the Glitterpot. We were using embossing folders. The DP and card was rounded at the edges. The embossing folders used were from Crafts Too - Christmas Greeting. This was then roughed. Labels 1 was used to cut the mats. The white one was embossed with Cuttlebug swiss dots. Little snowflakes were added with ribbon and gems.

The next one was the NOEL Crafts Too embossing folder. DP paper used together with some embellishments. Another bit of ribbon to finish it off.

Pam's Wedding Anniversary

My mate Pam and her hubby celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in October. This is the card that I made for them. It's a decoupaged sheet that I got off of one of the ladies on the forum that I belong to. I stuck this onto silver mirri card and then blinged it up with some gems and some silver peel offs.

The funny thing was that when I sent it I forgot to put her house number and her post code on the envelope..opps!!! but it still got there. :-) Well done to the Royal Mail!

Holiday in Weymouth

A couple of weeks I went away for a week to stay in a caravan in Weymouth. We had lovely weather for the beginning of October. When of the highlights was this little chap.
We were sitting in the caravan one afternoon and Fel (my friend's hubby) said look there's a squirrel, we all went to the door to look..as you do... and this little chap was out there. I got my camera and took a few piccys which he didn't seem bothered about. He was very tame, obviously been there before and fed!!
We got some peanuts and he came right up to the door and posed for this lovely picture for me. He was right at the bottom of the caravan steps. I'm sure he would have taken the nuts from my hand had the noisy brats (oops sorry noisy children) hadn't come running by.....

Glitterpot Class - 8th October

8th of October I went to a craft class with my mate Pam. Jane Gill was taking the class and we made the following 4 cards.

The first 2 were using a Hero Arts stamp (one that I did purchase at the end of the day). With the first one, we stamped onto acetate and then stamped the trees again and stuck them behind the acetate. The reindeer is another stamp and this was cut out and then stuck to the front of the acetate. A stamped message and a bit of glitter finished the card off.

The second card is a really bright Christmas card, unusual colours. The trees were stamped onto white card and then onto different coloured card. These were then cut out and stuck with foam pads. A bit of glitter and nail heads were added to finish it off.

We weren't booked onto the afternoon classes but when I saw what we were doing then I had to book (Pam loves owls!). This was the second card we made in the afternoon. The owl stamp is so cute. We stamped 3 owls and coloured them all differently. The branch was a stencil that Jane had. A little bit of glitter glue (I don't do glitter) and some goggly eyes and a stamped sentiment finished it off.

The first card we made in the afternoon was with shrink plastic. The 3 images were stamped onto shrink plastic, coloured in and then shrunk down. This bit I found easy (well as long as I kept the heat on it). These were then threaded onto a piece of ribbon and some bells added. Die cut ivy leaves and berries and a stamped greeting. Also added a bit of glitter glue.

My Birthday and Wedding Anniversary..

I am slowly catching up with my blogging! Back at the beginning of October I celebrated my birthday. Here is the card that my mate Pam. The image is a stamp and the colours are beautiful. The picture doesn't do it justice.

A week after my birthday is my wedding anniversary and it was 17 years this year... where has that time gone. Here is the card that I made hubby. The image is a decoupaged FF image mounted on backing card cut with Nellie Snellen nesties. The greeting is computer generated. A couple of gems, hearts and card candy added and voilà!!

This card is what my mate Pam sent us. It's done with tapestry stamps and is absolutly beautiful. Such a simple card but so effective.

Something a little different at Appleby Magna

While we were up at Appleby Magna, Anne Maria taught us a bit of jewellery making and this is what we did. I really enjoyed this and will definately be doing aome more but have at the moment not succumbed to buying any beads.

Susan's Project

Susan's card was cust from nesties - curved rectangles. the stamp set was a stamping up set called Vintage. The colours were lovely.





Greta's Project


Greta's project was a squeey card. I made up the squeey card and then stuck it on a card blank to give it more depth.




Jennie's Project


This is jennies project which is a padded card. The picture is made from material and padded out with wadding. I really liked this card and have since bought myself some patch material to make further cards.

Jan's Project

This is Jan's card. We all fell in love with the printed bear. He is stuck on a spellbinders cutter - lotus pendant - I have also purchased this recently too..The card is cris crossed using a scoring board.

Cathy's Project

This is Cathy's card. A different step on an easel card. The crad does lie flat and when you pull the green tag at the back, stands up. I added some peel offs to decorate it.

Kaz's Project

Kaz did something a little different and bought kits for a calender. It's made from coasters covered with paper. and flowers and gems added to decorate. A very easy project to make for Christmas pressies!.

Crafters House Party part 2

Here are a few more of the cards that I made on my weekend away at Appleby Magna.

Pam's Project

Pam's card was another simple but effective card. we had a sketch to follow. The image is a dufex sticker that has been decoupaged. She also provided inserts for the cards which were from Imag-e-nation.

Jackie's Project

This is Jackie's card which was a really interesting card to make. It is done from an A4 piece of card. Made into an envelope shape. Covered in backing paper. the Flower's are from 'Fred she said'. The greeting on the inside is a stamp that I had as I messed the original one up..opps!!!!

Joy's Project

This is Joy's project which was quite a different card to make. Firstly I messed up the folding of the card blank....then I wished I had covered the middle section with backing paper. The birdcage is done out of acetete and is bowed. The butterflies are die cut ones. Not sure if I would make this one again but still an enjoyable card to make.

Trace's Project

There is a bit of a story behind Trace's projrct. She had completed all the packs and had them on a carrier bag by the front door. Also there was some stuff for the charity shop. Her hubby took the stuff to the charity shop and also took the bag full of the card packs...opps. So these were done very quickly. We had the instructions for a very quick stepper card and the lots of die cuts to decorate it with.
