Happy 70th Birthday

Well today it's been a typical bank holiday Monday - rain, rain and more rain!!! It has never stopped all day. So different to yesterday when the sun shone.. So this afternoon I spent some time in my craft room and here is what I made. A friend of mine is 70 next month and here is the card I have made her.

It is one of Hunkydory's concept cards, this one is an easel card. I just added the 70 to it with peel offs. (They do come in handy sometime..) All other aspects of the card comes in the kit.

Freshly Made Sketches #137

This morning I waved my hubby and son off on their annual golf trip to Devon with a few mates so I now have a week of peace and quiet and lots of time in my craft room.

This morning I was in there and here was one of the cards I created. I followed the sketch over on Freshly Made Sketches  (hopefully I am in time!!).

Here is the sketch:-

I have turned the sketch on it's side and have used a topper from 'Acid Drops & Whatnots' I just love these toppers they are so funny. I have matted them onto black card and just added some gems. Very simple card.

Commissioned Father's Day Card

I have a selling page on Facebook and have loaded some of my cards for sale on there. I was asked by someone on there if I could make them a card for Father's Day which was 'cute', 'football', and had 'Daddy' on it. This is what I came up with. I sent her a copy of it and she loved it. Phew!!!!

I have followed the sketch over on Tuesday Morning Sketches .
.

The card is a  6 x 6ins square card. The image was from a Wellington Bear Ultimate kit, as is the backing paper. The image and backing paper are layered on to kraft card. The button and twine is from my stash and the greeting has been computer generated.

Having a play with CAP

Every year since my Grandson has been born I have done a photo book of his year. I normally do it through the year and it's ready for his birthday but this year I am a bit behind as in didn't start it until the weekend!!. As he was born in May I normally start the book in June and end the following May and the last page is hos birthday.

Here are the first couple of pages and the last page. :-)

This will be the front page showing pictures through the year.

Here is the June 2013 - can't believe how much he has changed in a year.

This is his birthday page.

I'll show the other pages as and when I do them.

Craft Workshop cards

Followers of my blog will know that I attend a craft workshop every fortnight run by a very talented lady, Clair. Here are the last 2 projects that we made on the 1st May and 15th May.

The 1st card was made using a Spellbinder nestie - Timeless Rectangles for the base. The The stamped image topper was done using Just Rite stamps and cut with spellbinders nestie labels 20. The flower was made using Spellbinders shapabilities die - d-lites-create-a-stargazer lily. The flower was supposed to be stuck on the card but I preferred the card as it was.

The 2nd card was made with mainly stampin up stuff. The mask used is from Memory box honey comb. The flower is stampin up die. Washi tape has been used on the tag and the leaves were cut was from a Poppy die. I love the colours of this card. Am still debating weather to get the flower stamps and dies. :-)

My Boys Birthday

Yesterday, 14th May, was my husband's and my grandson's birthday. Leon was 3 and I just don't know where the time has gone. Here is a picture of them both enjoying their birthday cake.

The cards that I am showing are their birthday cards I made for them. The first one is for my husband. This was made using a Hunkydory kit - favourite pastimes. I have matted and layered it onto gold mirri card. The button and  bakers twine have come from my stash and the greeting, which has been tinted with chalk, has come from Craftwork cards.

This card is for Leon. It is an 8x8 square card. The image and backing card is from Hunkydory again. I have matted and layered it onto silver mirri card. The letters and number 3 have been cut from sizzix alphabet dies. Have added silver card candy to finish them off.

Playday at Greta's

Last bank holiday a few of us all went up to a friends house for a crafty day. Normally when we all go up there we don't make anything cause we are normally nattering all the time. This time though was different. Although not a lot of stuff was taken we all managed to make an average of 2 or 3 cards. Here are mine.

This card was made using an image taken from a Jane Mayhew's (I think???) Cd. I love penguins and I think this image is so sweet. The image and backing paper were layered onto black card. Gold card candy was added along with a craftwork cards greeting.

This card was made using La Pashe 'Pickles and Podge decoupage sheets. I had taken quite a few with me and the other girls used some of the images to. Some lovely cards were made using them. They are such lovely bears. This one I used raspberry backing card, buttons and ribbon.

This was a cared kit that Kim brought with her. You get the decoupage image, the card blanks, the dome that goes over the front and the box it all goes in. I made the card up and with the box I added some ribbon and a topper.

Podge - Such a cute Bear

Well bit of a mixture weather wise today. Started off with rain this morning, then we had a bit of sun this afternoon. I was at my craft group this morning and we made a lovely little card which I will show you in another post as I have a little bit of finishing to do.

The card that I have to show you today is for my great nephew who is 7 this month. I have used a decoupage sheet from La Pashe featuring Podge the bear. He is such a sweet bear. Image backing paper and greeting are all from the decoupage sheet. I have used kraft card to back the paper and image and to cut the number 7 out.
