Last of the Christmas cards for 2014

Ok Christmas is now over for another year, hope you all had a great time. Mine was very quiet, well as quiet as it can be with a 3 year old grandson but more of that later. I'm still not feeling great. Got a cold and cough the week before Christmas and 2 weeks later I still have it!! Not impressed.

Anyway enough of me feeling crappy, as I mentioned in a previous post I was very behind with my cards this year but managed to get them all done and sent out. and not a bought card in site.

These two cards were designed in CAP, just stuck onto patterned backing paper a few gems added. Quick and easy cards. Made 3 of each.

The next few cards were made with Hunkydory Christmas kits from 2013 Quick fast and easy cards.

I found these coloured images when I was looking for my Christmas stash. I think I coloured them in a few years back but never used them. Cut out and matted onto silver mirri card, silver peel off added a s tonic punch snowflake with a gem and voila.. quick easy card.

The next cards were all made with the help of CAP. Just had to print them out and stick onto card blanks.

This was the card I made for my grandson. Just a simple one but I added googly eyes to the snowman.

For 2015 I am starting early - like now!!

Hunkydory to the rescue..

I don't know what has happened this year but I am way behind on my Christmas cards, note to self..must do them before I go on holiday next year!!..I did make a few while I was at Appleby Magna and I did manage to make 2 before I went on holiday.

Here are those 2. The images were images that I stamped some time ago and coloured in with promarkers. The backing paper/card is from my stash. The snowflakes are from tonic punches. The greetings are from Craftwork cards.

On returning from holiday and sitting down to make some more cards I found that my mojo had decided to stay in Florida so I turned to Hunkydory and their Christmas kits from last year. The cards just came together. Here are just a few that I made first off. Apart from a few gems and snowflake punch, all the materials came from the kits.

This is why I love Hunkydory!

First Installment of the holiday

Ok, well I have now been home for a week and my holiday is a distant memory, my tan is fading to a glow :-) and I am not liking the cold. Don't worry I am not going to bore you with lots of photos but just a few. We had a couple of trips this year to places we haven't been before and these are the pictures I want to share with you.

The first pictures are of some of the cloud formations I saw during our flight. They looked like snow covered mountains. I find it quite fascinating up there in the sky.

On our first week we had some friends come up to visit that were staying down on St Petes. We went on a road trip to St Augustine.. The oldest continuously occupied European established settlement. You can definitely see the Spanish influence, a beautiful city and so interesting. Just a few pictures of the architecture. We did a trolley-bus tour which was really informative. A place that we will be visiting again next year.

Picture of hubby and I on the lawns of the Castillo de San Marcos.

This is a 'The Old Senator', the oldest living thing in St Augustine, a beautiful living oak.

We visited what was the city jail and had tour guide that again was very informative. The cells were very small and sometimes housed up to 6 or 7 prisoners. Looking round it was quite eerie especially as the jail only closed in 1953.

Here is a picture of the new female inmates..

...and the new male ones!!!

Whilst we up there we arranged a visit to the St Augustine Wild Reserve. No photography was allowed in case it spooked the animals. The reserve was opened by one woman and is run by volunteers. All the wild animals there have been rescued form circus', breeders, and over breeders. The volunteers are mainly women and they all have hands on with the animal. It's an amazing place. The best bit for me was when the guide we had called to the wolves ( they have 4 there) and all the wolves replied. It gave me shivers and if you closed your eyes you could have been in the wild. If you ever get to Florida it's a must place  to go.

After our 2 day trip we drove back home via 'The Beach Road' which is a bit more interesting then the interstate.

Here we are having a paddle at St Augustine Beach

On the drive down we saw some beautiful beach houses for the rich an famous. Didn't have chance to take piccies but wouldn't have minded to live in one or two of them!!!

We stopped off at Daytona Beach. We wanted to drive down on the beach but they were having some sort of race. Wasn't impressed with Daytona - a bit like Blackpool in Florida :-)

Now my friend's hubby (in the maroon top) feels the cold and he wouldn't even paddle in the Bahamas when we stopped there last year on a cruise. Well you can imagine my surprise when I saw him paddling at Daytona. I just had to take a picture :-).

Thanks for reading and I hope I didn't bore you!! :-)

Back from my hols

Well I am back from my hols - 4 weeks goes so quick and boy is it cold here....brr want to be back in heat - 80 degrees plus by the pool on Thursday before we left. I do have some pics to show but won't be boring you with too many :-). Once I have sorted some piccies I will put them on here!

Anyway enough of that :-). Here is a card that OI made on my last craft workshop before my holiday. I love the colours and the stamp. It is a Stampin Up stamp - Apothecary Art Stamp set. Very difficult to get over here but I managed to get it at a great price on ebay in the States whilst  was over there together with the framlits dies that go with it. Very happy bunny.

Only 9 more sleeps....

.......til I go on my holibobs to Florida & I can't wait.....but the lead up is very much to do and not enough time. Today I had a date with The Rig Doctor. I have a pale carpet in my lounge and it was filthy but now it is all clean again! :-) Brilliant machines!

As we are going away for a month I need to get all my family & friends cards made for the rest of the year and here are 3 of them.

The first one is for my sister whose birthday was a couple of weeks ago. It is a DL card made with BeBunni's 'Love' Papercrafting kit. The backing card and the topper are both matted onto silver card. The greeting is from Craftwork Cards.

This card is an anniversary card. The backing card and patterned card are from my stash. The topper has been printed from the BeBunni 'Love' CD. The 'ribbon' is fact a piece of card and the greeting has been stamped onto the card.

This is a card which I really really like. I saw something similar on Pintrest. I think the embossing on the white card is really effective. I will definitely be using my embossing folders a bit more :-)

Belated birthday card and Goggly Bats

As you know I go to a Craft workshop every fortnight which is run by Clair. Last Thursday was the first time I had been there for about 6 weeks due to things happening. As it was my birthday at the beginning of October, Clair made me a beautiful birthday card. We had done something very similar with the colours and flowers in a previous class but this was so beautiful.

Our class card was this cute bat card. Not one for sending Halloween cards, it can make an ideal birthday card for someone whose birthday falls around the 31st October. The background was quite messy doing it using distress inks but gives a great effect. Everyone's card was different. The bats are from a retired Stampin Up set that are so cute especially when you add the goggly eyes. The trees are a Stampin up set also.

Anniversary Card

Well another busy few days again. No chance to make cards but here is one I made earlier!. An anniversary card for my mate. It was my take on a design that I saw on Pintrest. Just made with black and white card and using one of the Spellbinders labels die ( can't remember which one!). Added some ribbon and a couple of gems. I do like black and white!

A catch up.....

Well what a busy couple of days I have had. Firstly I celebrated another birthday on the 2nd.  I had a lovely day, surprised by my hubby who took the day off to celebrate with me. Treated me too, to a trip to the tip and to Tescos :-) although we did have a lovely meal out in the evening with friends at a Chinese restaurant.

One of the nice things about having crafters as friends is that you get some lovely handmade cards. Here are mine from my very good friends.

The weekend after my birthday I caught a cough and cold so that basically put me out of action for a few days. I don't do ill very well. It did seem to go but it has come back again now.

On the 9th my hubby and I celebrated out 21st wedding anniversary. He couldn't get the day off as he had to go to London on a course. It was ok as my Greta, one of my crafty friends, had a play day so I spent a lovely day with them, crafting and having a good time. Even managed to make a few things.

As i said it was our anniversary and here is the card that I made for him. It's from Crafter's Companion BeBunni Love paper kit. Such cute images.

We had decided on no gifts as we Re off to America in a few weeks but when I got home from my craft day he gave me my card and then he gave me 3 gifts. I had to close my eyes while he gave them to me!
The 1st gift he said would help me in my day to day tasks. - it was a pack of dusters!!
The 2nd gift he said was to help me with my cold and cough - a double packet of tissues - with added balm so less!!!
The 3rd gift was a beautiful bunch of 10 red roses. :-)

I do love him so even though he is a pain sometimes....
