Workshops and Make & Takes at GBCF

On the Friday of the Great Craft Festival, Pam and I attended the workshops that were held. Here are some of my makes (I say some as I haven't finished them all yet)

Phill Martin (Hunkydory)
We were given 4 separate cards to make from Hunkydory kits. Everything that we needed (materials etc) were included and we had lots over to make other cards. Here are the 2 that I finished, I have another 2 projects to do.

Jodie Johnsone (Tonic)
Second workshop we did was with Tonic. have to say that this was my least favourite. The first thing we did was make the card which I have to say is lovely but all the elements were cut out for us and we just had to stick them on. The cracker, I was not impressed with. Jodie told us to make up the cracker first and then decorate it. I think it would have been better to decorate it when it was flat then make it into a cracker.

Dawn Wheeler (Crafters Companion)
This was another workshop that we were due to make 4 cards. We were using Crafters Companion 'Party Paws' Kits to make 4 very different cards. Again I only managed to make 2, but again we have all the materials and more to make the other ones. I do love this little panda :-).

Leonie Pujol - Decopatch
This was the last workshop of the day and much appreciated as we were pooped by this time. I have never done decopatch before but have to say it was quite relaxing sticking and glueing, sticking and glueing :-)
The flowers are made from decopatch paper stuck onto ordinary paper, When they dry, they become hard and the flowers were stamped and then cut out. They are supposed to decorate the decopatched heart but I haven't got round to it yet!.

At the actual craft show on Saturday and Sunday, they were running Make & Takes. You could only do a maximum of 2 so Pam and I did 2 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. These also were very enjoyable.

Francoise Read - Woodware Christmas Stamp.
We made this card with this gorgeous Polar Bear stamp which jumped into my basket as I walked passed the stand :-). We coloured it in with Sukura Pens. I will be adding a little stickles to the hat :-)

Sarah McCrossan - Fancy Folds
This little mini magazine holder was made out of a piece of 12x12 paper. We had no scissors or glue so the cuts are a bit messy as we only had a ruler. I will be making more of these as I think they will be ideal for little notelets and great for pressies.

 Christine Bell - Pinflair
We did Christine's first make and take on the Saturday morning and this was the cracker. Much better than the Tonic one. It is from a kit that Pinflair do and included the banger, joke and hat, We were also given a tiny punch as a cracker gift. Decorated with peel offs.
Having visited the Pinflair stand later that day, Christine told us that her make and take that afternoon was a little needle case so we decided to do that make and take on the Sunday. Such a cute project and again a great pressie idea.

Great British Craft Fair - Stoneleigh Park August 2013

Last weekend, my friend Pam and I went up to Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire to attend the Great British Craft Fair. We drove up there on Thursday and stayed in a local Premier Inn which was about 10 minutes away.
On the Friday we attended the Workshops, 4 in total, They were as follows:
  Phill Martin - Hunkydory,
  Jodie Johnson - Tonic Studios
 Dawn Wheeler - Crafters Companion
 Leonie Pujol - Decopatch
I will be showing you my makes as soon as I finish them all :-)

On the Saturday we went to the show and although neither of us were going to buy anything we didn't do too bad. The first picture is of my goodies I that I bought. Got some really good bargains.

This picture is of the freebies (excluding those from the workshops). The bag and 2 kits were for attending the workshops, one kit was for becoming a member of the Premium Hunkydory club, and one kit was for attending the show.

Absolutely fab weekend and will definitely be attending again next year if I can.

Podge the Bear

After a hectic weekend, today hasn't been much better. Busy busy busy...but off to the Great British Craft Extravaganza on Thursday (workshops Friday and show Saturday & Sunday) so really looking forward to that.
My card today is for a very good friend of ours and I saw this image and knew that it was right for him. The image is from La Pashe  Pickles & Podge Range. The decoupage sheet included the backing paper also so it is really simple to put together. All I have added is some backing card under the main image and some gems from my stash.

Another Christmas Card

This is the second card made with the Kanban topper sheet. This time it was a round topper and I have made it on an easel card. The backing paper was included in the kit and the mirri card was from my stash. The poinsettia flower and the Christmas ribbon also come from my stash. The Greeting is from the same topper sheet.

Sunday Sketch & Stamp #167

We woke this morning to a huge thunder storm and heavy rain. I love a good thunderstorm :-). It brightened up afterwards though and turned into a nice day although slightly cooler.

My card today is a Christmas card  following the sketch over at Sunday Sketch & stamp

Here is the sketch.

I found the stamped image in a file with other Christmas images which I had stamped and coloured with promarkers probably last year for last Christmas. I cut it out with Spellbinders nesties (can't remember which one). I have coloured the edge of the nesties with a promarker pen to edge it. The snowflake paper comes from a Forever Friends Christmas pack. The blue card is Bazzill card. The snowflake brads are from a box of mixed brads I have had for ages. I think they were from Papermania but don't quote me!!! The greeting is from a box of greetings that I have acquired over time. The ribbon is from my stash.

Cuttlebug Mania Challenge - Clean & Simple

After a couple of busy days I have today managed to get into my craft room. When I saw the challenge over on Cuttlebug Mania I knew exactly what I wanted to do. The theme is CLEAN & SIMPLE. I have a few anniversaries coming up and I also wanted to used my new die (well I say new, I have had it a few months..).

I have used the Marianne die and black & white card. The greeting was done in CAP and then printed it out. All I have done is then added some pearls.
