My Handmade Birthday Cards

Every year on my birthday and Christmas I always say that one of the best things about having friends who are crafters is receiving beautiful handmade cards. This year for my birthday was no different. Here are the cards I received this year on my birthday. All so different but all so beautiful. Thank you so much everyone.

Anniversary Weekend

This weekend just gone, hubby and I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary and we went away down to the New Forest for the weekend. On the way down we visited Portchester Castle near Portsmouth. The castle is just a ruin but it is on a huge plot of ground and very interesting. You have an audio guide whilst walking round and it was very interesting. Well worth a visit.

Saturday we spent the day in the Forest - stopped off in Lyndhurst first so that I could visit the craft shop there. Then on to Brockenhurst. Such a beautiful part of the country. The day ended on a sad note though as we hit a deer that came running out of the bracken across the road. We missed 2 but clipped the 3rd one. Unfortunately she had to be put to sleep when the ranger came out as she was too badly injured. Luckily we were ok and no damage to the car but ot was very sad.

On Sunday, our actual anniversary, we decided to have a drive into Bournemouth and then work our way back via the coast. We visited Boscomb, Christchurch, Highcliffe, Milford by the Sea, Barton on Sea and Lymington.

Bournemouth

Boscombe

Highcliffe

We then drove inland to Beaulieu. Here are some pictures of the village. These were taken from the car as we couldn't find anywhere to stop.

We then made our way back to Lyndhurst and were met by the donkeys. I love donkeys.

The evening ended with a lovely meal at Prezzo's in Lyndhurst.

A fabulous weekend in a beautiful part of the country.

I'm 50!!!

This weekend I turned 50!!! Saturday my husband and my best friend planned an evening out withoiit telling me. I knew we were going out but not where! We ended up at Smith & Westerns at Tilgate Park. The food was lovely but all of us couldn't eat it all. The portions were huge. Would say that if you ever go there DO NOT HAVE A STARTER!!

Of course I had their birthday dessert bowl which was huge but very nice, big enough for us all to share although most of it was eaten by mt son and his girlfriend!! :-)

On the Sunday, which was actually my birthday, My friend gave me a surprise tea party complete with cake!! :-) I was very spoilt over the weekend and ate far too much but I had a lovely time.

All of us at the table - my friend just got me in!!

Me making sure I was in the picture this time!!

Workshop Card 29/09/16

Thursday was workshop day and this week we made a couple of Christmas cards using Stampin Up Pretty Pines die cuts. The cards are quite simple and easy to make although we did have a few problems with a dodgy cutting machine - cam away thinking I had an arm workout due to the stiffness of the turning handle. :-)

The greetings are from MFT Grand Holiday Greetings

The greetings are on my wish list and I may even put the dies on there too.

Lovely Day Out

Last day of September today and the sun was shining (well most of the time. We have had showers but we managed to dodge them). Today we went up to Chartwell House, home of Winston Churchill.

We took my mother in law with us as she is over from France for a few weeks and she thoroughly enjoyed it even though there were a lot of stairs for her to walk up and down

Have to say that this was one of the best places we have been so far and very informative. Very interesting walking round the house and the grounds. There were some beautiful flowers still left on the garden including some beautiful red roses.

A place that we will definitely visit again.

Oh yes and of course I had to have a scone and jam whilst we were there :-)

Scrap book Catch Up

One of the things I have been doing in the evening is scrapping some of my photo. I think I have mentioned it before, I have lots of photos that just get stuck on the computer so I decided to make some year books. Here are a few of the pages I have done (I have blogged others on previous posts). These are some from 2014 and some of the beautiful skies I managed to photographed over last year.

The layouts are all done via CAP and are 8ins x 8ins.
