Annual Crafty Week Away

For those that have read my blog over the years will know that for the past 7 years I have been going away with good friends for a girly crafty week away. it's a week of chilling and relaxation, alot of chat & laughing and maybe even a bit of crafting. Well this year I did a lot of crafting as did everyone else. I had the plan that I would make some Christmas cards whilst away and that is what I did - approx 50 of them :-). So over the next few posts I will be dropping them into my posts along with other stuff.

The first lost are from a papercrafting set I got from Crafters Companion - The Snowman - Snowdog. The set came with toppers, backing card and greetings. All I added was a few gems and mirri card.

Another beautiful day....

here in the South East. This morning the car was due for MOT so hubby and I took it to the garage and while we waited for it to be done we decided to go for a walk along the seafront which we did and ended up walking from Portslade to the Peace Statue in Hove and then back again. My feet were a little bit sore when we got back. Car passed MOT after a couple of bits needed doing so that was good.

When we got back my friend invited us round for some lunch and we ended up staying round there all afternoon out in her garden. (We have workmen starting on our garden on Monday so hopefully will be able to sit out in mine next week ). A very chillaxing afternoon.

The card I have to show you today is one that I made for my great niece. The image is a 'Pickles and Podge' decoupage from La Pashe. Backed onto green backing card and pink backing papers. Flower is a prima flower and greeting is from Craftwork cards.

Race for Life

A charity that is very close to my heart is Cancer research due to the fact that almost everyone has been affected by the horrible disease. I lost both my parents to cancer and last year my cousin lost her very short battle which was a big shock. I have run walked the Race for Life but haven't done it for a couple of years but following Maddy's death I knew I had to do it again this year.

I have lost over 4 stone since I last did it and I am a lot fitter now so I knew it would be difficult to do the 5k, so on Sunday 21st June I lined up with the joggers (previous years it would have been with the walkers ) and I managed to complete it in 36 minutes. I even managed to jog some of the way :-)

Very chuffed with myself

Busy Couple of Weeks

Well what a busy few weeks I have had since I last blogged and I will 'bore' you with it all over the next few blogs :-)  I have a holiday, Race for Life and another holiday to tell you about!

Firstly my holiday to Tenerife. It was a last minute booking for my friend and I. We stayed at a hotel on Golf de Sur which we had stayed and a week of pure chilling -

The weather!

My friend and I

Me on our balcony.

I do have some cards to show you as well. Here is a card I made for my great nephew whose birthday was yesterday. Not sure where I got the image from as it was in my download file but t was ready coloured. I moved ot into CAP and added the wording. Printed the sheet out and then added to backing card and added ribbon to the corners. I then stuck googly eyes for added character.

Beautiful Weekend

Well what a beautiful weekend it has been. The sun is shining and it has been lovely. We have had a music festival going on at Shoreham Airport (or Brighton City Airport! to give it it's proper name). It's about 2 miles from where I live so last night it was a bit noisy with the 'boom boom' but it's only for 2 nights so can live with it.

The card that I am showing you today is one I made at my Thursday card workshop. It's a shaker card (first time I have made one of these). The flowers are from Stampin Up ' Flower Shop & Petite Petals. The 'happy' die is also from stampin up!
