Lovely day was had by all..

Yesterday I went to Ally Pally to the stamp show with my mate Pam. First time we have been to this show and we were surprised how small it actually was compared to other shows but we will definitely be going again. Didn't spend very much, well not compared to other shows but I was happy with my purchases and I even managed to get a couple of thongs on my wish list.

Here is a picture of my rather small haul I got.

Now followers of my blog (if I have any :-) ) will know that I have been having a clear out of my craft room and have not been crafting since last year apart from my workshop cards. Well on Friday I actually made a card :-). and I am even going to enter it into a challenge over on Freshly Made Sketches

Here is the sketch I followed
and here is my take on it. I have used one of the topper sheets from Craft work Cards that came as a members gift from create and craft. I have matted it onto backing card from my stash, added a piece of ribbon and card candy to the center of the sunflowers. I have also added a few gems. No sentiment or greeting yet as not sure what I will be using it for.

Not blogged in Ages

Can't believe how long it has been since I blogged last. I have finally finished - well almost - my craft room clearance and tidy up. I will finally be able to do a bit more crafting soon. Am really missing it. Not sure whether I said or not but my son moved out just before Christmas so I had to clear his room, which is also done now. Next job in there is to re decorate.

I have been in a bit of a de clutter - next room was the spare room. This had become a bit of dumping ground but a couple of hours, a trip to the charity shop, the tip and doing a car boot sale, I now have my spare room back looking like a bedroom :-)

To relax  the evenings I have been knitting and here is my latest make, a jumper for my grandson.

I have still been going to my fortnightly workshop and here is the latest card that we made. The stamps are ALTENEW Hennah Elements. They are beautiful stamps and I desperately need these. :-) The stamps stamp out beautifully and lovely to colour. Mine have been coloured with promarkers. The greeting stamp was from a stampin up set. I have added some gems to the center of the flowers.

Right, I hope you are all sitting down...

....because I have made a couple of cards that weren't workshop cards!!!!! That's right my first own cards done this year.

My friends' son got married at the weekend so she asked me to make a card for him and obviously I had to make one for me as well as we were invited.

The first card is from Hunkydory. An 8x8 card. I love the image on this card but then I am a hunkydory fan. The backing card & the image have been matted onto silver mirri card and pink ribbon and bow has been added.

This is the box that I made to go with it.

This card was based loosly on an idea I found on Pintrest, It's very simple idea using a black and white theme. The original card was don as a 5 x 7 but I wanted to do an 8x8 but the original idea didn't quite work so I have adjusted it. The greeting is computer generated and when I out the card all together it had something missing so in my recent craft room clear out I came across these metal hearts, I think I got the at The Works, which I thought worked quite well. I was really pleased with the outcome.

Here is the matching box. The greeting is duplicated as this was the first one I printed out but did it on the wrong card that didn't match the card so I used it in the box instead.

Oh My Goodness!!

I hadn't realised that it had been so long since I have blogged - over a month! Well I am hoping but not promising, that I will be a better blogger and will have more regular updates. I still have a few more pictures of my holidays last year, also of my newly sorted craft room - yes it is nearly done.  I have been up on my craft room this afternoon making a couple of wedding cards. I will show these later as the wedding is on Saturday and the bride and groom ay have a read and see them before them.

I have also been de-cluttering other rooms in the house and also sorting my son's room who moved out just before Christmas.

Anyway in the mean time I have a couple of cards which I have made at Craft Workshop. The first two were done using a die - Stampin Up's Striped Scallop - a lovely die but a bit of a pain to cut out and we needed to keep all the little bits too. The flowers are a stamp & punch and these have been embossed with gold WOW powder. Lovely cards but very fiddly. The mother's day one went to my Mother in Law.

This card is lovely and I think looks so fresh. The stamps are ALTENEW - PERSIAN MOTIFS - beautiful stamps to use. They have been coloured with promarkers. I love the colours. The 'Friend' die is a die-namics die and it is on my wish list. I really like this card..

Baby's Blanket

What a lovely day it has been today, sun shining and it was quite warm for a February Sunday. Hubby and I went for a nice walk along Shoreham Beach looking at all the posh houses along there (well you have to don't you!)  Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Spring is coming..

As you know I have been sorting my craft room out (nearly done :-) yeah!!).. but I have been doing some knitting. When I was in America last November I bought some wool that I fell in love with. The wool had a pattern on it for a hooded baby blanket and here it is. As I have no baby on the family at the moment it is being modeled by 'Scruff' one of my bear factory bears.

Anyway it is all put away now waiting for the next baby on the family!

Catch Up...

Here is the card I made at workshop last week. A beautiful card made due to being Valentine's day but not too sickly. I think it will make a lovely anniversary card. :-). The backing was done by inking the embossing folder and them putting it through the big shot. The 'Love' is cut using dies from 'Little B' . The hearts were punches and the butterfly is a Stamping Up die.

Although I haven't been card making I have been trying to get some pages done for Leon's memory book I am doing for him. Here is his first school photo. I got a big version of this for Christmas and I think it just captures him perfectly.

Some scrapbook Pages

Still no cards made at the moment apart from those from the craft workshop due to the de-cluttering of my craft room. It's getting there, I have to get a move on as I am starting to get withdrawals :-).

I did got to Craft Workshop today and we made a lovely card which I will share with you when I have photographed it.

In the meantime I have been catching up on some scrapbook pages - one day I will print them all out and put in an album..

The first layout was mine & hubby's trip to London to see the Poppies at the Tower. We had a lovely day and the poppies were beautiful. We caught the train to London Bridge and walked to the tower. I got to see The Shard and a walk along the Thames.

It was quite a productive day too as opposite the Tower is the War Memorial for Merchant Seaman. My grandfather was killed during the 2nd world war when his ship went down. That was all I knew about him and obviously his name - Alexandra Peck. The names on the memorial were laid out in ships and as i didn't know the name of his ship hubby and i decided to look through all the names - over  24000 of them, but we found him! I was so excited as finding him there made him real, up until then he was just a name. When I got home I did some research and found out other information about him. The only sad thing was that my mum wasn't here to see it too. She had always said she wanted to go see the memorial but never made it.

The second layout is of Christmas Day. Layout for Leon's memory book I am doing for him. He was such a good boy that day. Very helpful, even helping us open our pressies when he gave then to us.

The last layout is of some picture I took last week whilst we were away in the New Forest. We had a lovely few days staying at Sandyballs Holiday Park near Fordingbridge. The weather was kind to us. Cold but no rain. We went for some lovely walks and looking forward to the next trip down there.
