Teenagers Card

Spoiling you today :-), second  post today. I'm just showing off as I have spent time in my craft room the last couple of days.

Card I have to show you today is based on a  card that I originally did at Clair's workshop about a 18 months ago.

Using cardboard letters and numbers that I had in my stash, Triangle bits and round bits cut from card, carpet gripper tape added then all covered in silver plumbing tape.
Embossing tool round the cardboard pieces to make the stand out and the rubbed with alcohol inks. Had a bit of disaster with the inks as I haven't used them in ages and I had a leakage and lost a couple of bottles, but luckily I had enough for what I wanted.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #362

It has gone very dark outside at the moment and I think it may begin to rain soon. I may have another afternoon in my craft room which would be nice.

The card I have to show you today is another of the male birthday cards I had to do. I followed the sketch over on Tuesday Morning Sketches

Here is the sketch.

Here is my card

For the card I used Hunkydory's Hobbies & Pastimes - Around the Track and How's That. Everything used on the card was from the pack apart from the gold mirri card and the card blank.

Thursday's Workshop Card....

....was all about the fish! Great workshop last week with Clair  Lots of fun. Bit of inking, stamping using a kit from Stampin Up that I wouldn't normally like but doing this card has put it on my wish list!
The background was inked, the sand was done using a die and inked. The fidhes were stamped out, coloured and then cut.

Makes a great 'man' card.

Lovely Day At Drusillas

Today seems to be the last day of the summer here according to the weather forecast so we made the most of it and took my grandsons to Drusillas. If you follow my posts you will know that I used to take Leon there every week until he started school full time. This was the first time we have been in a couple of months and it was Ollie's first time. They both enjoyed it and were very good. Some friends whom we met there, were amazed at how Ollie can crawl so far, :-). They are both growing up so quickly.

I do have a card to show you. A quick one that was made using a Hunkydory kit. It is for my brother in law. I chose this image as we are all attending a family BBQ on Sunday at his place and he is doing the cooking.

Still Playing Catch up....

Right I have just returned from a lovely couple of days up near Tamworth at Thomasland with Leon. We were worried that he was getting too old for Thomas but he still loves him and got very excited when we told him that we were going. We had a bit of a nightmare journey up there Thursday afternoon/evening. SAT NAV said 3.5hrs, It took us just under 6 to get there. Leon was so good. Portable DVD's are such a godsend. I will post some pictures when I have them sorted.

Now a catch up!! Last Sunday, my friend and I went to see Ton Jones at the Sussex Cricket Ground. The tickets were an early birthday pressie from my hubby. The show was FABULOUS!! Tom was amazing and has still got it. The voice is still as powerful as ever. He sung a lot of his old songs including my favourites Delilah and You Can Keep your Hat On. :-). We had great seats and the weather was beautiful.

A fab evening, fab show and fab company!!

Ceremony of the Keys

Where is this year going? Since hubby retired it seems the days/months are just zooming pass. Bit of catching up to do on my blog.
Last Wednesday 13th  we went up to London to see the Ceremony of the Keys at The Tower of London. Due to the recent problems with the trains, we decided to go up by coach which was quite a experience. But at least we had no problems until we were due to come home. The coach should have left London Victoria at 11.30pm, it eventually left at 12.25am so we didn't actually get home until 2.30am. Luckily we didn't have to work. :-)

This is the 3rd time we have attended the ceremony and if you every get the chance to attend then you must! A great bit of English history. Unfortunately we were not allowed to take photos of the actual ceremony but we did get a guide around the Tower by a Yeoman of the Guard.

I do have a card to show you also. This is one using a hunkydory kit especially for men. Just added some gold mirri card and the greeting is from Craftwork Cards.

Very excited today....

'I'm so excited and I just can't hide it, I'm about to loose control and I think I like it!' This was I am today cause I am off to see TOM JONES this afternoon at the Sussex County Cricket Ground. This is an early birthday pressie from my hubby and I can't wait. Watch here for piccies :-)

Too excited to get up in my craft room today but I do have a card to share with you. This is for my Nephew and his wife's 1st anniversary last week. They got married abroad and it was a year ago today that they had a big family and friends party to celebrate the marriage.

Card I made was quite simple, just card and mirri card. The greeting was done n CAP. Hopefully they have it now as they went away to Italy for their anniversary.

Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge

Today the sun has been shining and the weather was very summery.....shush! we don't want to frighten it off.

I should have been at a craft day today but I couldn't go so when I got back this afternoon I went up into my craft room. I coloured this image a few days ago using my promarkers. I haven't coloured for ages so was quite pleased with this. I needed to make it into a card for my great niece but my mojo went so I decided to have a look at some sketch challenge blogs. Haven't entered a challenge in so long.

I went with the sketch over on Tuesday Morning Sketches. Here is the sketch.

Here is my card.

Image - not sure where it came from
Coloured with Promarkers
Spellbinders Rectangle and scalloped Rectangle nesties
Backing card & paper from stash
Buttons from stash
Greeting from Craftwork cards.

Good Luck Card

On Friday , hubby and I went to a leaving do of one of his ex officers who has left the job for pastures new. The leaving do was at the Casino. We had a lovely buffet and then had a little gamble. I don'tt play the tables as I am very unlucky - even hubby won't let me near him as when I am he looses :-). I sit and play on the roulette machines. Quite happy with my 10p bets!!

The card I made Steve is from a hunkydory kit. I just added matching green card for the backing and scalloped circle that the image is resting on.

Play in the Park

Today has been another lovely day - is Summer here? Shush!!

Today was Wednesday so that meant 'Leon day'. We went and picked him up from school and he came home, played with Grandad, had some tea and then just before we took him home we took him to the park. I'm not sure who had more fun, Leon or Grandad. :-)

The cards I have to share with you today were the non-Christmas cards made up at AM. They are from some Hunkydory kits that I took with me to make calendars but decided to make them into cards instead.

Minions!!

Today has been a relaxing day and even got time to spend in my craft room this afternoon. I managed to sort out my cards for this month that I needed, most from my stash of cards but I did have to make 3 new cards which I will show you hopefully tomorrow when I have photo graphed them.

I did go to an osteopath this morning as I have been having trouble sitting for long periods. I thought originally that it was my coccyx but having had that checked out by the doctor, they said that it was all fine. As it hasn't been getting any better I decided I needed to go see the osteopath even though it's expensive. She told me that my left side is dominant and the muscles in my bum are so tight that they are pulling my coccyx to the left! (I wished all my muscles in my bum were tight :-) ). I have exercises to do and I have to try and sit on both bum cheeks instead of 1. I have another couple of appointments so hopefully she can sort it out.

That's enough of my ailments.. I do have a card to share with you. Long story short, last year when I went on my crafty week we all went out to dinner and we had a few glasses of wine and had to wait for a long time for our food so to pass the time (and to shut me and my mate up cause we were a little bit merry :-) ) they gave us some colouring to do - you know the colouring sheets that they have to keep kids quiet in restaurants. Well this year, Kim bought Pam and myself a little Minion colouring book with its own wax crayons. I had to make a card for one of my great nephews and decided to use one of the images from the book which I coloured using pencils. Matted and layered the image on black card and yellow and blue gingham backing card. The greeting is from Craftwork Cards.I thought it turned out quite well.

I also have the last of my Christmas cards that I made up at AM this year. These ones are made from a topper sheet from Kanban. The card on the left is an easel card.

This card was made from an image I stamped and coloured ages ago. I took a folder up to AM with me full of Christmas stuff that hadn't seen the light of day for a couple of years and this was in it. Not too sure about this one!!

This card was one of Greta's projects that she brought with her. The Christmas Tree is made form strong straws. A great idea.
