Lovely Day Out

Last day of September today and the sun was shining (well most of the time. We have had showers but we managed to dodge them). Today we went up to Chartwell House, home of Winston Churchill.

We took my mother in law with us as she is over from France for a few weeks and she thoroughly enjoyed it even though there were a lot of stairs for her to walk up and down

Have to say that this was one of the best places we have been so far and very informative. Very interesting walking round the house and the grounds. There were some beautiful flowers still left on the garden including some beautiful red roses.

A place that we will definitely visit again.

Oh yes and of course I had to have a scone and jam whilst we were there :-)

Scrap book Catch Up

One of the things I have been doing in the evening is scrapping some of my photo. I think I have mentioned it before, I have lots of photos that just get stuck on the computer so I decided to make some year books. Here are a few of the pages I have done (I have blogged others on previous posts). These are some from 2014 and some of the beautiful skies I managed to photographed over last year.

The layouts are all done via CAP and are 8ins x 8ins.

Grandsons and Nephews' Card

Today we looked after the grandsons, Ollie from 9am and Leon from school at 3pm. Ollie is teething at the moment and has a rash round his mouth from all the dribbling and has a cough. Good old calpol!! He crawls around now and pulls himself up whenever he can.

Picked Leon up from school and he had had a fall at school and scratched his back. He had also been naughty at school, threw a glass of water over another boy so we had a Nanny && Grandson talk when he got home!!  It's lovely to have them but boy do they knacker me out now. I must be getting old!!

Card I have to show you today is one of my favourite characters, Wellington. The image is a decoupage and all the backing paper apart from the kraft card comes from the ultimate kit. Just added some string and gems to finish it of.

Back Pain & Anniversary card

The day before we went to France, we had my oldest grandson overnight. When he came home from school the strap on his shoes had broken so we had to take him up to Tescos to get him another pair. Whilst bending down to fasten the shoes my sciatica went down my leg. Normally if I walk around I can release it but not this time. I was determined not to give in to it and I don't believe in taking pain killers. I was in pain but managed to take the dog for a walk.

Had a bit of a painful night but it had eased a little by the next day which was good as we had a
flight to get. It did ease up over the week away but it still ached. Everyday it gets a bit easier and yesterday I went to see my osteopath and that helped a little. I keep telling my husband that I am going to wake up on Sunday, which is my 50th birthday, and just collapse in a heap!! :-) :-)

I do have a card for you today. An anniversary card for my niece and her husband made using CAP. Great when you have to send them through the post.

Holiday in France

Hubby and I have just returned from a week long holiday to France to visit my in laws. They live in a little hamlet called Chambe near Vouleme. Right out in the middle of nowhere, peace and quiet. It was lovely spending tome with my brother in law and his family. The weather was beautiful especially for our visit to La Rochelle.

Here are a few pictures of the week.

'My Besties' Birthday card

Today I will be looking after Ollie my grandson and then at 3pm, picking up Leon from school so I will have no time to post during the day so I have scheduled this post.

This is a card that I have made for my sister's birthday. The image is from 'My Besties' and was coloured in using promarkers. All other items from my stash. I have never really been taken with these images before but have to say that I really liked colouring on this one so watch this space for another one :-)

Scotney Castle - 2nd Sept

I have so much to catch up on and do that I am adding more things to my to do list than I am crossing off!!. Anyway, no card to show you on this post, only some pictures from a trip that hubby and I took to Scotney Castle the other week. The weather was a bit overcast but luckily the rain stayed away until we were due to leave.

The walled garden wasn't at it's best as it's late in the season and most of the flowers wee dying, however the grounds and the house were magnificent. The house was actually lived in up until 2006. It was open to the public via the National Trust in 2007. I love looking round old houses and learning all about the history.

The visit was finished off with a cream tea. Don't mind if I do!!!! :-)

This tree was huge!! so tall, the white blob is Gary just to show how tall the tree was.
