Sunday Sketch and Stamp

Hubby and I have been invited to a couple of weddings this year so here is the first of the cards that I have made. I have followed the sketch this week from Sunday Sketch and Stamp. Here is the sketch.

For my card I have gone for the monochrome look of black and white. The image is a wedding stamp that I have had probably for years but never used until now! It was stamped onto white card and then matted onto black card. The backing papers are from The Midnight Chic Stack from DCWV. The greeting is a LOTV sentiment stamp and the flower is from my stash.

Less is More Challenge

What a lovely couple of days we have had weatherwise down in the South. The sun has been shining and it has been quite warm...not the rain we had forecast.

My card today is being entered in to the challenge over on Less is More which this week is a sketch.

For my card I have used a stamp that I bought a few years ago and I love the sentiment. It was stamped on white card and then matted onto some blue card from my stash. The circles were cut from nesties. The greeting is from Craftwork Cards layered onto a matt cut with a stampin up punch. The flowers are from my stash.

Have you ever...

.....had one of those days when you sit and spend over an hour making a card and then it doesn't go quite right and then you get angry and then end up tearing it up in anger? Well that was me yesterday afternoon. Mojo had definitely gone out for a Sunday afternoon drive. I couldn't even follow a sketch, and when I did make the card it looked horrid so I tore it up!!! I then walked away from the craft room and came downstairs and watched a film instead!

Luckily I had made a few cards the other day and the one I am showing you is made from Hunkydory's 'Fluttering Butterflies' set and this is Perfect parasols I think! As regular viewers know I love Hunkydory kits and all I have added to this one is silver mirri card and card candy. Everything else comes from the kit.  I have followed this weeks sketch over on Friday Sketch Challenge

Freshly Made Sketches

Another card made on Friday afternoon was for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week. The sketch I followed was this one.

For my card I have used a piece of off white hammered card folded to an A5 size. I have again used the Pollyanna Pickering Wildlife paper kit. The images are so beautiful. The backing paper also came from the kit. The half circle was cut using a circle cutter that I bought years & years ago. It's like a giant compass. :-). I have added some brown card to back the patterned paper and image and some card candy finishes the card off.

No Sentiment

That is the theme over on Winter Wonderland's Challenge this week. A Christmas card without a sentiment. Here is the card that I have made using topper and backing card from a Kanban Christmas kit I bought a couple of years ago. I have added black card and a piece of black ribbon to finish it off.

Simple but very elegant I think!

Craft Workshop 17th April

As promised in an earlier post, here is the card that we made at last week's craft workshop. I had to finish it at home cause Clair had made it as an Easter card and I don't do Easter cards :-).

The card shape was made using a die and then the smaller one was used for the white card - half put on the front and the other half was put inside. The white card was embossed using a wood grain (which I really really like!). The bunny was a LOTV stamp and I coloured it using copics. Flowers made with Stampin Up flower punch. Bit of twine added and some pearls.

A wet and windy day!!

Well what a wash put today has been. It turned out beautiful yesterday but today has done nothing but rain and it has felt very cold. So what do you do on a wet miserable afternoon - go and do some crafting- and that's exactly where I have been this afternoon. I was on a bit of a roll and finished 1 card off from card group last week and made a further 3 more. I will start to show these tomorrow hopefully when the light is right and I can take some photos of them.

In the meantime here is a card that I made a couple of weeks ago. I love this little chap, he is so cute. He is from the Pollyanna Pickering papercraft pack. There are some adorable images in this kit. With this one all I have done is added some black card. The backing paper, topper and greeting are all from the kit.

Update

Well I have had a very busy couple of weeks and not had time for any crafting. A couple of weekends ago we had our grandson for the weekend so we decided to go take him away for a couple of nights down in Southampton and took him to Poultons Park  which has a Peppa Pig World there. Unfortunately the weather wasn't with us (we had rain on and off ) but this didn't stop us or Leon having fun. I had been there about 20 years ago when my boys were young and it has grown over the years and I was very impressed with it. Better if the weather was nicer but never mind. Definitely a place we will revisit.

I have added some pictures of the day.

I do have a card to show you. This is one that I made at workshop a couple of weeks ago. It's a simple card but very effective. The flowers are all handmade using a punch and then building the flower from the layers. I don't have a great history with making flowers but I was quite impressed with these ones.

40th birthday Card

Had my craft workgroup yesterday morning and we made a lovely card (will post later). The weather was beautiful and sunny but got overcast in the afternoon. Luckily we haven't been too affected down here with the dust cloud.
Today has been very overcast and quite chilly. I have been up in my craft room as I had to make a card for and ex colleague of my hubby's. It's her birthday tomorrow and we are going to a bowling party tomorrow and then to Smith & Westerns for a meal. She is 40 and she loves anything to do with soldiers etc. Not very feminine :-).
Here is the card that I have made for her. The image and backing papers have come from 'The Best of La pashe' CD.  The image is decoupaged. The backing card is kraft card and the number 40 is also cut from kraft card.

Using up bits

Not such a nice day today weather wise but I had fun as Wednesday is Nannie & Leon day. We started the day with getting him some new shoes (he has always had Clarks shoes, something Grandad and I insisted on when he started walking. We then went over to Drusillas for the afternoon.

My card today was made yesterday using up die cuts that I had lying about. The happy birthday is a tattered lace die that I was trying out and the main base and corners are both Marianne dies. Added some black backing paper and some black gems and there you go!. My second black & white card of the week.
