Crafty Week 2015

As you are aware I have just returned from my annual crafty trip with friends to Appleby Magna. This was our 8th year!! We were a little light on numbers this year due to several reasons but fun was still had.

I will get round to sorting some pictures out but in the meantime here is a scrap page from the pictures last year.

Wellington at Christmas

Like most of the country, we have been having rain showers today - torrential rain showers with thunderstorms rumbling in the distance. Been another busy day too but I did get to see my grand-kids today so I am happy.

I have some more cards to show you from my crafty week away. This time they are from the Wellington at Christmas ultimate kit. I just love this bear. :-) Added some ribbon, gems and matting.

Me to You Christmas Bears

I am at the moment waiting for the garage to call regarding my car. It has gone in for it's MOT and it failed!! So waiting for them to call to say it is all fixed.

In the meantime I am showing some more cards that I made on my crafty week. I had this set of Me to You bear Christmas stickers for ages and here are the cards that I made using them.

First of my makes from Crafty Week at Appleby Magna

Have finally got round to sorting and finishing the projects that I started on my crafty week a couple of weeks ago with the girls up at Appleby Magna.

This is a lace flower made up with different types of lace. Would make a lovely broach or hair accessory for a little girl!

Some calendar bases made from Hunkydory Kits, Just need the calendar bits to go with them. So easy to make and look good.

I will post more items soon.

A lovely day in London

Yesterday we woke up to torrential rain. Great I thought, perfect for a day up n London. Then went to have a shower and found that we had no hot water! Still I would not let even that to spoil my day. Off hubby and I trotted to the station to catch a train getting soaked.

We were going to use my sister's Christmas pressie that she got us..Afternoon tea at the Waldorf. We walked from Victoria Station to the hotel in the rain again although it was easing a bit. When we got to the hotel though ot was all worth it.

Table layout - china cups!!

Proper tea with tea leaves

The sandwiches and cakes..mmmmmm

It took us about an hour and half to demolish that lot :-) and when we left it had stopped raining so we had a walk around. Down to Covent Garden, Leicester Square and up to Hamleys. (big kid really!!) We ended up at Trafalgar square and had a sit down.

Took this picture a minute before it started to rain again. Look at that sky!!

We then had another walk down to Horse Guards Parade and went into their museum. Very interesting. then when we came out it was brilliant sunshine. We made our way back to Trafalgar Square and had a sit in the sunshine watching the sights.

We then headed back to Victoria to the Apollo and saw Wicked which was very good but very busy. We then got caught up in the train cancellations and could only get a train back to Gatwick so my son had to come pick up.

It was a great day despite the wet start but I think it wasn't a good idea to walk around London the day after I have run 5k in the Race for Life :-)  I ached just a little bit!!!

A Nice Relaxing Weekend.....not

Well I knew this weekend would be busy but I am knackered now as I write this. Saturday saw my son and daughter in law move into their new flat and my hubby was helping. I too was supposed to be helping but my grandkids other nanny said that she could only have Leon and not little Ollie so I had the pleasure of his company. He is 4 months old today and is becoming a little corker. He is turning over when you lay him down and he just wants to walk and be up on his feet. He is also teething and dribbles everywhere :-)

Here is a picture of him I took whilst changing him. He does nothing but smile now....oh and cry when he's hungry!!

Today, Sunday, my future daughter in law and I took part in the 5k Race for Life in Worthing. This is the 6th or 7th year I have run this but Jodie's first time. Luckily the weather was with us and we managed to finish in approx 45mins which we were very pleased with.

Here we are before we started

..and this is us after we had finished.

Although I am no runner, this is the race that is close to my heart as I have lost several member sof my family to cancer and a good friend of mine is still fighting.

Thunderstorms

Well what another strange day weather wise here on the South Coast today. Very warm but close and this afternoon we had a huge thunderstorm. I was hoping to get up in my craft room today to try and finish off the cards that I made on my crafty week away but it didn't quite work out that way :-).

I don't have a card to show today but I do have some scrap pages for to share. Every year since he was born I have been I have been doing some scrap pages to put on a memory book for Leon and also a picture of him on hos birthday. I know as he gets older this may get difficult but hopefully he will let me continue to take them as he gets older.

Here are the pictures over the last year.

Here he is on his 5th birthday

Another couple of busy weeks.

Well since I last blogged, hubby has been away on his annual golf trip down to Devon and last week I went away with the girls on our annual crafty week up at Appleby Magna . Although the numbers were depleted this year - only 6 out of 9 - we still had a great time and lots pf crafting was done. I made quite a few cards which I will bore you with over the next few posts once I have finished and photographed them.

I do have a card to show you which I made for one of my Great Nephew's. The image was from Craftsuprint .  The image is decoupaged and great to make. This was only the second time that I have used Craftsuprint but will definitely be using it again.

Flaming June .... but not in the way you think!!

Flaming June!! Well it felt more like cold and miserable November. What a horrible couple of days it has been... mind you today has been productive.. sorted all my paperwork, did some banking, sorted some stuff for the charity shop and the tip...Tomorrow I will be starting on my craft room!! Promised hubby I would sort it out before he comes back on Friday..:-)

I do have a card to show you that was made a couple of weeks ago when we had a play day at Greta's.

The image is a Kanban topper and matted onto gold mirri card. Handmade card candy and greeting (thank you Greta)
