Friday Sketch Challenge Sketch 48

Good evening. It has been a lovely day here on the South Coast of England after a rotten afternoon and night  last night with the rain. I was up in the craft room yesterday making in roads to the cards that I need to make for family and friends this year. Here is the last of my August birthdays, for my son.

I have followed the sketch over on Friday Sketch Challenge although I have turned it on it's side.  Here is the sketch.

For my card I have used a square card blank. Bazzill backing card. The backing paper and the greeting comes from a Wellington Ultimate kit. the decoupage is from the Wacky Wheels collection from La Pashe. Card candy from craftwork cards.

Almost there for August Birthdays

Well we eventually got the rain that they have been forecasting this afternoon although not the thunder storms (well only a couple of rumbles and little bit of lightening). I have been in my craft room this afternoon but those cards will have to wait as the lighting was too bad to take decent pictures.

Here are a couple of cards made for birthdays in August. I have now finished them, last one was made this afternoon.

The first card was made using a topper and backing card from a Male Kanban kit. Black card and gems from my stash and greeting from Craftwork Cards.

This card was made from a Wacky Wheels decoupage from La Pashe as is the greeting. The backing paper and black card are from my stash and the card candy is from Craftwork Cards.

Opps missed another deadline

Bit cooler today in my part of the country but no sign yet of any rain or thunder that they have promised us. Just hope that the nice weather will be back :-)

My card today was made for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge last week but I missed the deadline... opps! Never mind still liked the sketch and I have another birthday card made. The image is a ready made Me to You bear topper. The backing card is double sided so have used both sides. The greeting again is from Craftwork Cards. Flower and gems from my stash.

Have been missing out recently on challenges as kept missing deadline etc but today I decided to have a go at Sketch Saturday Challenge. The card  is actually for my husband's brother whose birthday isn't until the end of December but there is nothing like being prepared!! :-)

I have used another Wellington decoupage and the papers are from the Wellington ultimate kit as are the greetings. I just added some bazzil backing card.

Here is the sketch

Here is my card.

New Forest

A couple of weeks ago hubby and I had a couple of days down in the New Forest. We are lucky in that it is only a couple of hours away from us. We stayed in a Premier Inn in Southampton as we do often. We were very lucky with the weather and we got to see lots of the ponies, some even deciding it was better to walk the road instead of the grass.

Here is a CAP page that I have done with some of the photos that I took for my memory book.

Another Scorcher

Well after a much cooler day yesterday, we have had another scorcher today, with tomorrow being forecast as even hotter. I have been out this afternoon for a meal down on the seafront at Brighton. Don't normally venture into the city and especially not on a hot Sunday afternoon but that was where my friend's son had his birthday lunch. When we got back after lunch it was straight into the paddling pool to cool off and it was lovely. :-)

Right the card I am showing you today is one I made Friday evening. For another August birthday (only 2 more foe August to make now!!!). The image is a pre printed/coloured topper which my mate Greta gave me. I have 3 others. The backing card is Bazzill and the papers are from my scrap box. Have used a spellbinders scalloped square to cut the backing for the topper and added a flower and some gems from my stash. The greeting is of course from Craftwork Cards.

Leaving Card

My hubby's office clerk at work is leaving to move to Oxford. He asked me to make a leaving card and I said 'Yes, fine', but when I came to do it my mind went blank..couldn't think of a thing. I went to CAP and tried coming up with ideas but didn't like anything I cam up with so I gave up. I was then looking through some stuff and came across the Flippin Women decoupages sheets from La Pashe. Sara likes shopping and gardening and these images were perfect.

The card needed to be A4 size so that it can be signed by all in the office so they fitted perfectly onto the card, You can't see it too much in the picture but i have placed the map of where she is going on the card as a backing sheet. Unbeknown to me it actually shows the road that she is moving to. I have printed the greetings onto the card direct. I was quite pleased with how it turned out!

I'm in love....

.......with Wellington! I have always loved bears ever since I was a little girl, I have many different bears including my Hard Teddy which I had from birth, but my latest crush is Wellington. What a cutie he is :-). I recently bought a Wellington Ultimate kit and the following cards have been made from that kit. He makes such great male cards which is great cause I have many coming up in the next couple of months.

My first card here is for my brother in law. Decoupaged Wellington, brown bazzill card for backing, backing papers from kit. Greeting and card candy are from Craftwork cards.

This card is for my cousin. Just added some blue backing card and some bakers twine. Topper is decoupaged.

This card is for another brother in law. The topper is so cute. Backing card is from my stash as is the gems. Greeting is from Craftwork Cards.

Wow it's hot...but I'm not moaning.....

What another scorcher it has been today again. Have been decorating my son's bedroom as he has been away for a few weeks studying. It's been hot up in his room but all done now apart from the bedding (which I am going to pick up tomorrow) and the curtains which I hope will be delivered tomorrow also.

Haven't been in my craft room for a couple of days but here are a couple of cards that I made last weekend for two great nephews who's birthdays are in August. (I am now trying to make all my August cards!)

This card I have made in CAP. I made the football backing paper then the greeting. I reprinted the greeting matt and the footballs so that I could decoupage them.

This card was made using a men's kit from Kanban. I have just added some black card  to layer the backing card. The greeting comes from Craftwork cards. (Again I say what would I do without them!!)

Some More Christmas Cards

Boy, I'm loving this hot weather... Makes everyone so much happier... My mojo seems to have gone on holiday at the moment so finding it very hard to make some cards and I have a n order to do for a leaving card!
Here are some more cards that I made on my crafty weekend using the Kanban Christmas kit. Very easy and quick cards. All I've added is backing card that came from the kit and some peel off greetings. Don't use a lot of peel offs these days but have so many. Should try to use a few more :-)

These cards are made from another sheet from the Kanban kit. Just added some backing papers and some peel off borders.

ABC Christmas Challenge.

Last year before Christmas I bought a Christmas Kanban kit ready to use for last Christmas's cards and guess what??? I never used it, so I took it up to Appleby Magna and let my crafty buddies have a peruse and take what they wanted (especially the glittered sheets as I don't do glitter!!)

They did leave me some sheets :-) and here is one of the cards. The backing card was from the kit as well as the main image which is decoupaged. The greeting is from Craftwork cards. I did add a bow to the image but ten remembered the challenge over on ABC Christmas Challenge  whose theme this week is

                              'N is for NO Embellishments'

and I thought this fitted the bill so I removed the bow and here it is.

Some More Crafter's Companion Cards

A couple of posts ago I showed you a card that I made from a Crafter's Companion Inspiration pack. I took the pack up to Appleby Magna with me to my crafty weekend to do if I wanted to. Here are the 4 cards that I made from the pack.
They were so easy to do as everything is in the pack for you. All that was added was a few gems.
Quick and easy cards but effective.

Eddie's Birthday

I have been away for a lovely girly weekend away with some fellow crafters. Got back yesterday. We had a weekend of chat, laughter and drinking (although not too much!!) and a little bit of crafting was done. Will show makes in a later post.

Yesterday was my youngest great nephew's birthday. Here is the card that I made him. It was done in CAP using the DaisyTrail Monsters kit. The background was printed directly on the card and the monsters are 3d'd.
Hope he liked it and it didn't scare him!!
