Niece's Birthday Card

Today's card is one I made for my niece. It is a 'Twist and Pop' card. It is a kit from Hunkydory. Everything you need is in the kit. I just added the little greeting tag from Hunkydory's Little book of sentiments.

Grandson's Birthday Card

Today is my youngest grandson's 2nd birthday. Not sure where that time has gone but he is growing far to fast. He is such a character and has us in stitches.

He is obsessed with Paw Patrol so of course that is what I had to put on his card. The wording was done in CAP. Image was printed twice so that I could decoupage it. The number 2 is also decoupaged. I have added glossy accents to the number 2 and to the badges on the dogs hats. The greeting came from Hunkydory's book of sentoments.

Workshop at Crafts U Love

Went to a workshop yesterday at Craft u Love. The class was run by Caz Counsell and here is the lovely card that we made. Looks quite complex but it is easy to make using the a die from Karen Burniston. Great card and so many different ways to decorate it.

Another Christmas card

Another couple of shoebox cards. More Christmas cards for my box :-)

Image is a Forever Friends bear. The card is a different fold.

This card should have had some acetate with it to make a domed front but I didn't have any in the pack so just made it. Image is decoupaged.

Shoebox Cards

As those that have read my blog before, every year I go away on a crafty week with friends up to Appleby Magna. Each person that goes does at least one project that everyone else can do. This is called a 'Shoebox project' and includes all the materials and instructions so if needed you can take them home and still do the project.

I have been doing some sorting in my craft room and came across a box with some of the ones I have collected over the years. As I have made 2018 the year that I will be finishing all my unfinished projects then I thought I would make them up. Most of them so far are Christmas ones. Some are not to my taste but that's the good thing about shoebox cards - you do things that you wouldn't normally do.

Here are the first 2 that I finished.

Valentine's Day

Valentine day has come and gone again and I nearly forget to get hubby a card. Luckily I have just purchased a heart die from Lawn Fawn via www.cs-getcrafty.com which we had used on the last workshop cards and an idea popped into my head. I used a heart embossing folder and then stuck some of the heart dies in the de-bossed bits. Added a couple of strips of heart backing card that I found in my stash and added a greeting stamp.

Simple!

Sharni's Workshop Card

The card I have to show you today is Sharni's card from last week's workshop. Same colours used as her Mum's card and the flowers are the same.

The original card was a shaker one within the heart but I never have much luck with them so I have made mine without the shaker bit. Thought it would make a lovely anniversary card for someone.

Clair's workshop Card

Been busy over the last couple of days. We have had new flooring fitted  and the house has been in uproar with stuff all over the place. Still all flooring laid now so will be getting my house straight over the next couple of days.

My card today is one made at Clair & Sharni's workshop last week. This one is Clair's card. Love this card and the colours. It's an eclipse card and I love the way it has turned out. A technique I will definately be trying again.

Son's Birthday

Good afternoon on this sunny but cold Monday. Hope you are all well.

The card I have to show you today is one that I made for my oldest son who turned 33 last week!! For the card I used Hunkydory kit from the Gentleman's Journey range. I used 'He shoots, he scores'. The greeting was from their book of sentiments.

2 More Cards from Linda's Workshop

I have 2 cards to show you today, both were made at Linda's workshop back in November. Both were made again using 'Lovely as a tree'.

The first card is a simple but effective male card. A bit of matting and layering, patterned backing paper, some ribbon and a button.  The tree was stamped in 2 different colours.

We made the background on this card bit for the life of me I can't remember how we did it..opps! I know we used ink and a mask. However we did it it was a lovely effect :-)
Makes a nice simple card. The tree was stamped over the background and a sentiment added.

Workshop Card from Linda's last Class

The card I have to show you today is one that was made at Linda's workshop last November. We made a couple which I will post over the next couple of days but I never got round to posting them.

This card was done using the Lovely as a Tree stamp set from Stampin Up and then heat embossing it. Now me and heat embossing do not always get along so please don't look too closely. I do like the white on the dark blue though.

A Birthday Card

I did have a little time this morning up in my craft room as I was suffering withdrawals and I also had to make a couple of cards for family that I didn't have in my stock. Watch this space for them.

The card that I have to show you today is one that I made for a friend of mine from her husband. The image is from a hunkydory little book.

Another Catch up!!

Ok so today is 4th February and I am sitting here wondering where the time has gone since Christmas!!

Last time I blogged I was on my way to the States for 17 nights. Well I got there and the first 4 days were fab all bar cold - yest it was 2 degrees one day!!! In Florida!!!! We arrived on the Tuesday but by the Saturday I started to feel not right, achy and a tickle cough, but Monday I had a full blown cough cold and felt decidedly crap. That's how I continues to feel and for the first time in the 11 years that I have been going there I just wanted to come home!. We arrived home on 19th Jan and it's only been in the last couple of days that I have been feeling better and my cough has gone.

Because of this I have done no crafting at all this year, I couldn't even go to the 3 workshops that I had planned for January. It doesn't look like I will be doing much over the next few weeks as I have to empty my craft room as hubby needs to sort the floor out as I have a hole in it. This will give me a chance to sort out my craft stuff and get rid of what I don't need/use anymore.

I do have some crafty bits to share with you though and the first bit is a frame that I made for my Nephew and niece for their new baby girl who was born in September ( 3 weeks early).  (The tag gives her date & time of birth together with her weight.

This is piece was for my brother in law and sister in law for Christmas. The wooden heart was covered in backing paper and then added buttons, sequins and ribbon and twine to make a bow.
