Tuesday Workshop 23rd February

I had a nice surprise today, my soon called and asked if I minded looking after Olie for an hour while they went out somewhere. Of course I said yes, so I had some precious time with him. He was very good for Nanny, although we did have 2 dirty nappies and got pee'd on :-)

The cards that I have to show you were made at Vicky's Tuesday Workshop. All cards are made from Stampin Up products. I love all the cards we made especially the center two.

Another card....

Been weighed today and happy to say that I lost 1lb and half which I was really pleased with. The daily exercise has been helping and hopefully I have turned the corner and will continue to loose :-).

Card I have to show you today was made with Hunkydory kit, Smudge and Mittens. Silver mirri card used to back the backing paper. I do so love these kits because they make such quick and easy cards.

Quick Catch up

Now young Olie has made an appearance and I am not on standby anymore, things are slowly getting back to normal and time for a mini catch up.

Weight loss - not going too well at the moment. Really need to get back into the swing and I am slowly getting there. I have cancelled my membership at the gym as I was not finding the time to get there. To compensate for this I have been going out for more walks and also been doing the '1 mile happy walk' it's a 15 minute workout that is great. https://youtu.be/njeZ29umqVE

Exciting times are ahead as hubby is retiring next month after 39 years as a member of the British Transport Police. We already have 3 holidays booked so look out for scrapbook pages of lots of photos - I have even bought myself a selfie stick :-)

I do have a card to show you today and it is the card I have made for the birth of Olie. It has been designed in CAP , printed out and then matted onto blue & yellow card.

Happy Valentine Day

Happy Valentine's day to everyone. Have had a nice relaxing day today, hubby and my son cooked son's girlfriend and I a lovely steak dinner with wine whilst me and her watched Grease Live. Not a patch on the film but enjoyable all the same.

We are still playing the waiting game. Grandson number two still hasn't made an appearance as of yet. Due date today so there is still another 2 and half hours left of the day but I don't think that is going to happen. After we all thought he was going to be early he is going to be late instead!!

The card I have to show you is hubbies valentines card. Not the normal red this year but black and grey. It came from an idea I got on Pintrest. It was done in CAP using Cupid and Hearts kit. Hubby liked it.

Playing the waiting game...

We are playing a waiting game at the moment for our second grandchild.. he isn't due until tomorrow but daughter in law went into labour on Wednesday evening...and we are still waiting for him to make his appearance. DIL is a bit fed up because her first child (with a previous partner) took 2.5hrs and our first grandson, Leon, only took 20 mins in coming. She has had some problems during this pregnancy so I did tell her he was going to be a nuisance :-)...watch this space!!

I did get up in my craft room today and managed a couple of cards (Mojo seems to have disappeared recently). Here is one of the cards I made for my step-granddaughter. The topper is the backing from a 3d topper of the same image cut on spellbinders classic squares. This was matted on pink card also cut from spellbinders classic scalloped squares. The backing has been embossed. Corners have been rounded by punch. The button has been added as I couldn't quite get the embossing done in that last corner.. the greeting is from craftwork cards.

Knitted Jumper

At the beginning of last year I started knitting a jumper for my Grandson. I finished knitting it back in July but then couldn't be bothered to sew it together as I hate that job. Well last week I git round to it and here is the finished product.

The only trouble is, it's too small for Leon now so I am going to have to wait to give it to my new grandson that is due to be born any moment now. It will probably fit him on a couple of years time :-)

Friend's Birthday Cards

Well not been keeping up to date with my blogging but then I haven't really been making cards either this year apart from those at workshops and due to my sister being down last week I did miss Clair's last one.

However I did make 2 cards this year, both for my friend Pam who turned 65 at the end of January. At the beginning of January I received a call from Pam's hubby asking me if I can make a card for him. My mojo had disappeared ( still on hols I think!!) but I racked my brains and then remembered that I had some images from Twiggy & Toots and used that image. The greeting was done via CAP as was the pink bow which has been decoupaged. Grey and pink backing papers were used and finished off with grey ribbon and gems. The card is 8 x 8 in size.

Then I had to think of a card from me. I had a couple of ideas but wanted something simple but sophisticated. Hopefully I achieved it with this card. This was designed in CAP using the 'Secrets' kit. This was printed off and then matted onto black card and added some gems.

Latest Workshop Card

I am a bit behind on all my blog posts at the moment. Opps!! Haven't been dong much crafting as trying to give the house a spring clean. I am a bit of a hoarder when it comes to paperwork so I have had to be good and get rid of a lot of it, (hubby's payslips going back to the 80's - gas boiler service papers going back to when we first moved in the house back in 1994 ). I have had to be very brave and throw them all out!

Anyway as I said not time to do crafting but have been to workshop and here is the latest card we did. When I first saw the card on Clair's blog, I wasn't impressed as I don't do cupcakes but when I was making it I really likes it and I liked the way it turned out.

We made a matching tag and I decided to make it into a card for one of my great niece's birthdays.
