Dog Sitting

This morning I was asked by my friend if I would mind looking after her Mum's dog while they went shopping, her Mum is visiting for the weekend. Here he is..BUDDY. He's huge!! Doesn't look it in the pics but he has really grown since the last time I saw him.
He is a labradoodle (Dad was labrador and Mum was a miniature poodle.... supposedly..).

He is a very spoilt pooch but he's a cutie though.

Another Sketch n Stash entry

Here is another card I made yesterday that I am entering into the Sketch n Stash challenge 60

The image is from Karendoodles. I coloured it using promarkers but can't remember which colours as it was some time ago. The backing paper is from Dandelion and Daisy range. The card, flowers, ribbon and gems all come from my stash. The boarder was punched using a Martha Stewart edger. Large circle and scalloped circle nesties were used to matt the image on.

The sketch I used was number 11.

I'm entering a card into 2 challenges.

Well today the weather took a turn for the worse. Still sunny but windy and cold so I did some creating this afternoon. I found a folder of coloured images so I have made a couple of cards. Here is one of them.

The image is a Kenny K. (The image can be bought here) I have coloured it with promarkers, not sure which colours as I coloured it a long time ago. The backing paper is from Daisy & Dandelion, the flowers and gems are from my stash. Greeting is from Craftwork Cards and can be bought here. I have used square nesties to cut the image and stampin up scalloped oval punch.

I am entering this card into 2 challenges. The first is the 'Sketch n Stash' challenge 60 - Free choice sketch. This is the sketch that I used.

I am also entering it into the 'Kenny K Krafty Girlz Challenge 42' - Springtime.

Have made a couple of cards.

I have neglected my cardmaking these last few days due to being far too hot and having to spend time in the garden sunbathing. However today I got bored in the garden after a couple of hours so came in to make a few cards.
I say 'make' as these cards are mainly poke out and stick together. I am talking about Kanban Wobblers. I do love these cards, so easy to make.
The first one is for my great nephew who is 3 at the end of May (I am trying to get all the birthday cards done so that I'm not in a blind panic)!

These two, I have made for my hubby and my friend's hubby. Decided not to put the rocker base on them when making them, but I think I may do having seen them. The heads of these haven't been put on acetate so they don't wobble.

Another beautiful day..

Can it carry on we ask ourselves?....This morning was paperwork morning. Sorting out the in tray where we put all the post and receipts. Took me a couple of hours to clear it and file everything but at least it's all done for a couple of weeks. Should really try to do it more often but you know - things get in the way :-)

I spent a couple of hours this afternoon in the garden, topping up my tan again...Didn't get any chance to make any cards today so I will show you what I made yesterday.

The first card is the dreaded one that took me 3 attempts to make. I have done it as an easel card. The image is a decoupaged image from Papermania as is the backing papers. I added some ribbon, bows and gems to finish it off. The greeting is also from Papermania. Still not sure if I like it still.
The next two cards are also from this Papermania set. The image on this card was decoupaged and layered on some card which has been put through the swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder. The starry backing paper comes from the Papermania range and added some ribbon and some gems. The greeting also comes from Papermania.

This card is a larger image of the above. I have used the Papermania backing sheets again and used a 5inch x 7inch card which has the front cover folded back. I'm not sure if I like this one either. :-)
I have a few more cards to make over the weekend for birthdays while I am away. That's if I'm not out in the sun :-)

Hot! Hot! Hot!

It's been a wonderful hot day today. We are really being spoilt at the moment. I went for my walk down to the post office in the square this morning then came home and made some cards. Yep the mojo returned and I ended up making 3 cards!!!

The dreaded one from yesterday got finished but I will show that another time as I still don't like it. However here is the card I made at the weekend. It's a little square card and I have used the pyramage image from La Pashe Nice & Easel range. The backing paper was from my stash as were the gems and sticky ribbon. The greeting was from Craftwork Cards.

After I had lunch I went and sunbathed in the garden for a couple of hours. It was lovely, had my ipod on and listened to the tunes as I baked in the sun. Although not sure the neighbours appreciated my singing. I forget that no one else can hear the songs I'm listening too so they only have me singing which I can't do!!!
Here's hoping the sunshine is here for a few more days so that I can get a tan before I go away.
:-)

Opps! Been naughty

Well today started off fine, Did some ironing whilst watching The Mentalist. Then I went out for a long walk which was lovely due to the beautiful weather. I was out for about 2 hours. Didn't realise it was that long as I had my Ipod on listening to tunes and I can walk for miles.
I then got home had a bit of lunch and then decided to make some cards, well a card. Not a difficult task you say but it just wasn't happening! 3 times I tried to make this card and 3 times it ended in the bin...well bits of it. Luckily I managed to save the actual image but not the other bits..
I gave up in the end and just thought 'Hey lets leave this for another day'. So I did!

This evening was weigh in day. I knew it wasn't going to be good as U had a 'hungry weekend' where I couldn't stop eating. So when i stepped on the scales and I had put on 1/2lb I was quite pleases in a funny sort of way cause it could have been much worse. So I now have 2.5lbs to loose in two weeks. It's still 12lbs in 5 weeks :-)
I am going to do this :-)!!

By the way I do have one card to show you that I made the other day but haven't photographed it yet...hopefully tomorrow.

Playday at Greta's

Yesterday I had a lovely crafting day at Greta's with Pam & Kim. We all had a great time and a good laugh..at one point we were all crying with laughter at the expense of poor Pam.

We were all going to bring something for all of us to do. Here is what we made.

The memory bracelet was Greta's idea. It's very simple to make, just memory wire and beads, but so effective. You don't need to follow any pattern. I love the colour of the beads and I will definitely be making some more.

This is the card that Kim brought for us to do. Isn't it cute? Ideal for an anniversary card I thought. The fishes are made from various 'Stampin Up' punches and stamps. On Kim's original card she used torn paper for the sea but I have used a stampin up wavy greetings stamp, and I added some ribbon. It's a card that makes you smile!

Pam brought all the bits to do a snowman pop up card. Yes, I know it's not Christmas but it's never to early to start the cards. This is the front of the card that I decorated today. I have used a 'Daisy & Dandelion Christmas greetings stamp and layered it onto gold mirri card which I have cut using a nestie and my cuttlebug.

When you open it up, up pops the snowman. It is cut from a Sizzix die that Pam had and is made up of about 10 - 12 pieces that you put together to make the snowman. I decorated the inside of the card with paper that I had left over from Christmas and some peel off snowflakes and a peel off greeting. I think he's rather cute too.

Just like to say a big thank you to Greta for having us and the lovely lunch, to Pam for driving me there and to all of you for such a great day.

Oh you may be asking yourself what I took to make... a big fat nothing!!. Was very lazy and couldn't think of what to take so I didn't, oops!

New Cards today

This afternoon I completed the card for my nephew. The car is a decoupage from the Wacky Cars from La Pashe. The backing is corrugated card. The colour is a deep purple - it looks blue in the picture. The greeting is from craftwork cards. I added buttons and a piece of ribbon to finish it off.

As with the card yesterday, on the decoupage sheet the above car came from, is a little pyramage car. I used this to make another card. Used a DL card, covered in black card and then with some more corrugated card used Labels 10 from the nesties and stuck the image to it. the greeting again comes from Craftwork Cards. I added a few pearl gems to finish it off.

Chilly Afternoon

The sun may be shining but the temperature has defiantly decreased and according to the weatherman it's gonna get even colder :-(

This afternoon I went up into my craft room with the proviso of making a card for my nephew. I had no idea what I was going to do. So I found some of the La Pashe Wacky Racers decoupage sheets. I have made one of the cars and am waiting for that to dry.

The card that I made and finished was from another sheet that I had lying around. I just matted and layered it onto some card and backing paper and added some buttons. I did have a little accident with the stamping, oops!! I may enter it into the Inspirationals' challenge on the forum that I belong to.

What a beautiful weekend.....

it has been. Weather has been gorgeous, warm and sunny. Yesterday I went out for a nice walk with hubby along the seafront in Shoreham and Hove. It was beautiful although I wore some sandals and ended up with blisters on the balls of my feet right under the toes and they blooming hurt!!

Today I was keeping well away from the seafront as it was the Brighton Marathon. Was a bit hot I think for running but it seems it was a success from the reports on the local news. This morning I went shopping with a friend. Not to town as I don't do towns, but to a shopping outlet just outside the city. I bought myself a top for my holiday and a pair of sandals.

This afternoon I have made a couple of cards from the Build a Blossom papers from La Pashe. These were bigger than last weeks ones. Such simple cards. Just some backing papers, nesties and some gems and voila! 3 simple but effective cards.

A funeral, a weigh in and a meal..

Yesterday was the funeral of our friend Barbara who died a couple of weeks ago very sudden. The church was packed. She was a big part of the village community where she lived and will be missed.

It was also weigh in day yesterday and how did I do? I lost another 2lb bringing my total loss to 10lbs. Whoo Hoo!!! I have another 4lb to loose too reach my first target which was a stone before I go on holiday. That's 4 weeks away so fingers crossed.

Yesterday we had our normal meet with friends from the Pru. It was weird that Barbara's funeral was this day as this would have been the next day we saw her. We went ahead with the meet but it was a bit strange without her there. The meal was ok but I think it was a bit rich as I had a bad tummy when I got home. Felt better this morning though.

I was suffering withdrawals..

.....from making cards so this afternoon I have made 3 easy cards. At the weekend I sat and made some of the build a blossom flowers whilst watching television. They come from La Pashe and can be brought here

The cards made here are using the cherry blossom flowers. They are all similar style using a DL card on it's side. A bit of ribbon added and some gems. The first and the third card has stamped greetings using a stampin up set. The greeting on the middle card comes from Craftwork cards and I have chalked it to co ordinate with the cherry blossom.
The card above has been entered into the Less is More challenge this week - A Touch of Red

Feel much better now that I have made some cards.

Mother's Day

Today is Mother's day and another day that I miss my darling Mum a bit more, but I would like to wish her a happy day cause I know that she is around and loving the freesias that I have bought for her.

Happy Mother's day Mum xxxxxx

I don't have any children of my own but do have 2 stepsons whom I have looked after since they were 3 and 1. They are 26 and 22 now so they are mine all bar giving birth to them. The youngest one lives with us and I got a lovely card from him and a gift card cause her knows I love clothes and we also got a visit from the oldest son as well with a lovely card and a bunch of daffodils which I love.

The youngest one also wrote me a little note that I want to share with you. This made me cry and want to hit him at the same time..

Cally
You're not a wicked step mum, you're a wicked cool mum and you have always treated me like a true to life son. So this is a poem to thank you today, to tell you I love you in a mummy son way. You've been there for me through the thick and the thin, even when I've proper got under your skin. You look after my daddy and make him happy even though he can act younger than me. So thank you my mummy with all of my heart even though after dinner you're guaranteed to fart!

Don't you just love them!!!!!
