Linda's Craft Workshop

Last Thursday I went to Linda's Workshop and we made 5 cards - yes 5 - all really pretty cards as well.

For the first 2 we made the coloured backgrounds using the Tim Holtz distress oxide inks which were really nice to use. We then sprinkled water drops on and dabbed it with paper towel. The first card we used it as a background and for the second one we cut a die out with it. Shall be having a go at this again.

This card was very easy to do, a tri folded card with a daisy punch and stamp from Stampin up. Simple but very effective.

This is another different fold card. Again quite easy to do and very effective. Used the daisy stamp and punch again.

I think this is my favourite card of the all. The flowers were stamp with embossing ink and then white embossing powder onto vellum. They were then coloured and cut out. The backing is embossed and then the card was cut using an edge die. Could have done with my sentiment being a bit further to the right.

Another Christmas card

Today hubby and I went to the cinema to see Pirates of the Caribbean - The revenge of Salazar, which was excellent. I do love a bit of Captain Jack.

The card I have to show today was a project that Kim bought with her to Appleby Manga. At first I tried to avoid it as it looked complicated but once I had started it was quite easy to do and I enjoyed doing it.

The spindles are all cut individually. The scenery behind the window was done with distress inks and tree stamps. I thought it looked really good.

Grandsons, Fire and Christmas Cards

It has been a very eventful time this weekend and very busy.

On Friday we had Ollie in the morning. He is such a little money and so full of mischief. Here is is out in the garden picking daises for Grandad.

After we had taken Ollie home we went to piick up Leon from school and he then spent the night here. He is such a good boy and loves staying at Nanny & Grandads. Here he is playing with his trains out on the patio.

Early Saturday evening we started smelling smoke, hubby got up to have a look and we saw all this black smoke coming from the local school down the road. The school had been set alight. The road was blocked off and we had many fire engines tackling the fire. The smoke was horrendous.

I do have some cards to show you also. These ate the first batch that I did on my week away. This is an old Hunkydory Christmas kit from a couple of years ago. I always like to challenge myself with these kits to see how many cards I can make from the kit. This time I managed 6.

Christmas in June

I have just returned home from my annual house party up at Upper Rectory Cottages with some crafty friends. This is our 9th year and this year we decided to have Christmas. Yes I know we may be mad!!! but it was a great week. We had a Christmas tree, secret Santa and a Christmas meal cooked by Saffron Catering. We also had the hot tub that did get to warm to use at the weekend. We also managed to do some crafting (pictures to follow of all I made :-) ). We also had Faye come in again to give us some lovely beauty treatments. I had a Full extended bamboo body massage (to die for!!) and a luxury facial.

Christmas Eve we left milk and a Ferraro Roche chocolate out for Santa and a carrot for Rudolph. In return Santa left us all a Satsuma and each a crafty pressie :-).Christmas day was Saturday and we spent the day crafting, present giving and having our meal. A lovely day and week was had.

Here was my view each lunch time as eating my lunch

The hot tub.

Here is the card that I made for Pam to thank her for arranging everything this year - no mean feat - but she did a great job as normal.

I designed the card using CAP and once printed and mounted onto a card I added a pearl.

Leon's Year 2015

Earlier this year my external hard drive gave up and I lost all my photos amongst other things but it was the photos I was more upset about. Mainly of Leon growing up. Luckily I have made year books every year so I do have those of him.
I was in the process of doing my 2015 one which was kept on my hard drive along with my layouts for my 2015 year. Luckily I had posted some of the layouts to Facebook and to Pinterest so I was able to retrieve some of the.

Here is Leon's yearbook.

Beautiful Week!

Sorry, not been blogging much have I?. Well here is a quick catch up. Hubby went away Sunday on his annual golfing trip down to Devon and the weather here has been beautiful - hot and sunny. I have had a very busy week.
Monday was shopping chilling and a bit of crafting.

Tuesday, I had the Grandchildren and we went to Drusillas - pictures on next post - it turned out to be a very hot day and knackering. In the evening I went to the theatre to see Wonderland with my son's girlfriend, Jodie. It was a brilliant show.

Wednesday was a complete chill out day, spent time up in the craft room sorting some stuff out doing a bit of crafting to.

Today Jodie and I went for a nice massage - lovely and relaxing. Tonight is my last night of peace because the boys are back tomorrow.

I do have a card to share with you also. It's was made for my great nephew who was 10 on Monday. The image was from the Fabulous Fella's dvd. I have printed it, coloured and decoupaged it!
