Wishing you a very Happy Christmas

Well haven't had tome to do much blogging since I came home from hols. Just been too busy! So I just want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year and I hope to be back next year with more regular blogging.

Before I go I do have a couple of calendars that I made to show you. Every year without fail, I always buy some calendar bits but never ger round to using them so this year I was determined that I would use them.

They are approximately A5 in size and have been made out of hunkydory kits and  some gold mirri card. I shall be making up some more of these for next year and just add the calendar bits when they come out. :-)

Determined to ready for next year before my holidays...

I'm Back!!

Well I am back from my month in the States, where has that time gone. I had a fab time and took quite a lot of pictures so watch this space for scrapbook layouts and plenty more chat about the holiday. I have been back a week and desperately trying to get stuff ready for Christmas. We are going away this year, for the first time, to a hotel in between Portsmouth and Southampton. We are not having Leon fr Christmas day but we are for boxing day.

I do have a card to show you today which is an anniversary card made for our good friends who celebrated their wedding anniversary whilst we were away. The card is similar to the one I did for my hubby for our anniversary back in October.

Workshop card 29th October 2015

Been neglecting the blog for the last few days, reason is because I am off on my holibobs on Friday and trying to get everything sorted and ready so not much card making has been done.

However I have still found time to go to my craft workshop and Clair came up trumps again with this lovely christmas card made using 'Flurry of Wishes' stamp set from Stampin Up. The card in a circular one using Little Be's Circular dies. I love the colours in this one.

Again a stamp set that will go on my wish list.

Last of my 2015 Florida Photos

As it's half term, I got to spend the day with Leon and we went off to Drusillas for the afternoon. I took him for a haircut this morning and he was a very good boy as he always is :-). Then off to Drusillas and meet up with his friend and his mum.

Getting excited now as only 9 more sleeps until my holiday and I can't wait, so I thought I had better finish the scrap pages for last years holiday so here they are. Now that I have finished them I need to print them out and put them in an album.

We get to spend Thanksgiving over in the States every year and last year we spent it with some American friends and their family. We had a fun time and looking forward to spending it with them this year as well. We were thinking of what we could take them this year that is English so we have decided to take them over some Pimms and to make them some mince pies.

Now I have finished last years photos I only need to do the previous 8 years and this years ones when I have taken them!!!! Busy time ahead I think.

Carpet Cleaning

Today I have been doing a bit of carpet cleaning. It's one of those jobs that I kept putting off only because I normally hire out the 'Rug Doctor' and the local shop I get it from has closed so I need to go further a field to get it. Any how I saw an advert for a Vax machine that was on sale so decided to buy it. I got round to using it today and I was very pleased with it and the benefit is that I can do it more regularly.

The card I have to show you is one I made for my niece. The image is a decoupage sheet from The House of Zanda. Love these images. You don't need much for the card as the image does it all. The greeting was stamped straight onto the card. Then added a few gems.

Back to normal

Well back to normality today after all the goings on last week :-). Not sure if I like it not though...but at least I have my holiday to look forward to.. 11 more sleeps!!!

I do have a card to show you today. This is one that we made at the last Saltdean Workshop. I loved making this card and although the stamps and dies used are now retired I hope to be able to get hold of a set when I go to the States. :-) Not sure what the embossing folder is (I forgot ) but it was very pretty. Definitely be making this one again.

Busy week

This week has been a very busy week, my son got married on Monday (pictures will follow). A lovely day was had by all. Then they went away for a few days so we had my grandson for the week until Friday. I had to do the school run which was a novel experience for me :-).

I haven't had much time to make any cards but I do have some that I made earlier.

These are the cards that I made a couple of weeks ago at my Tuesday Craft Workshop. All cards have been made with Stampin Up products. Great selection of cards and very simple to make.

Workshop Challenges

Every fortnight, as many of you know, I attend a Card Workshop run by Clair. A few workshops ago we started a card making challenge which runs for the fortnight and then we all vote and the winner then gets to set the next challenge. I do try to enter each one and here are my entries for the last 2.

The first challenge was for a 'New Home'. Even though I haven't a need for one at this time I did one for my box. This one was designed in CAP using Party Paws digi kit.

This challenge was to follow a sketch and make a Christmas card.  This is the sketch...

.....and here is my take on it. The decoupaged topper was one I found, must have done a load of decoupage toppers and forgot about them :-), The backing card is from a Papermania Christmas pack, gold mirri card is from my stash and bakers twine added.

Boy has it become cold all of a sudden... brr!! Not liking this weather at all..need sunshine so I have used a nice bright card to show you.

Here is the card that we made at the last Saltdean workshop. I really enjoyed making this. The background was made using Tim Holtz distress inks. The flowers used are Little B Bouquet cutting dies. One for my wish list I think..

Lovely few days

I have had a very busy but lovely few days. The weather has been gorgeous - eventually !!. Hubby and I took Leon away last weekend for a few days on the Isle of Wight. It is one of my favourite places and it was lovely to take the boy with us. We stayed in a caravan (or camper van according to Leon :-) ) We were so lucky with the weather and he was so good. I will put some pictures up once I have sorted them.

I do have a couple of cards to show you today. An old friend of mine twins are 21 this year. Where has that time gone!! So here are the cards that I have made them. They are decoupaged images. The background on the blue one was done in CAP, printed out and then stuck on the card.

The brown card was done with kraft card and backing paper. Numbers cut out using the kraft card.

Autumn has arrived

Well supposed to be the first day of Autumn today, what happened to Summer???? It was quite chilly today even though the sun was out still better than the rain.

Today was the first Wednesday in 3 and a half years (apart from when I have been away) that I have not had my grandson for the whole day or half. Now he is at school full time I have my Wednesday's free, although I did go to pick him up today and he came home to spend a few hours with us before we took him home. We are taking him away to the Isle of Wight at the weekend as a treat for him and us!!

I do have a card to show you today. It is one using the big word stamps from Woodware. I just love these stamps. They make some great simple cards.I only have 1 but nope to get hold of some more.

The card is an A5 card, the backing card is from my stash. The backing paper is from a 12in x 12in Wellington Pad. I stamped the word out onto the card and then stamped again on patterned paper and paper pierced it. Cut the card candy out of matching card and added a Craftwork Card greeting.

Holiday snaps

Have no card to show you today but I do have a couple of scrapbook layouts from my Florida holiday last year. We go to Florida every year and I take lots of pictures, I download them to my computer and that is where they stay! It's taken me almost a year but I have finally started to put them on scrap pages. These too are digital but I will be printing them out at some point. I do hope to eventually do all the years I have been away but that may take some time... this will be my 9th year going and a couple of those years we went twice a year!!

Anyway the first layout shows pictures from our road trip that we did up to St Augustine. On the way back we came down the coast and stopped off at a couple of beaches. The main one being Daytona.

This layout has pictures from our trip to the local County Jail at St Augustine. There is a lot of history and it was quite eerie there but very interesting. If you get chance read up about it.

Hubby's Anniversary Card

Well today has been a bit of a lazy day this afternoon. Hubby has been working due to the Rugby World cup. I went to the gym first off and then been up in my craft room. I only managed to make one card but I will show that once I have photographed it.

However he is one I made earlier :-) . The card is for my hubby on our anniversary which is next month. It's very simple. The front topper was done in CAP. The frame is from Mays PL Digital art. I took it into CAP and added the greeting abd added the blue to the black frame. It was then printed off and matted onto blue card and spotty card from my stash.

Darling Dachshunds

Ooooo second post of the night. I do have a card to show you that I have made for my nephew who is mad about dachshunds, him and his wife..:-)

For his card I have used the Darling Dachshunds stamps from Little Clair. I stamped them out and then coloured them with promarkers. Inked the edges with distress ink to soften the edges (still got to perfect this :-) ) I have used a patchwork backing paper also from Little Clair ad also kraft card. The stamp greeting is also in the stamp set, used a small scalloped circle to mat it on. A piece of bakers twine and a button to finish off the card.

New Front Garden

What another strange day weather wise today. One minute lovely sunshine and next torrential rain! So glad that we had they came and done the front garden yesterday where we had sunshine most of the day.

As mentioned in a previous post here are the before and after pictures of the garden. We had grass with to corner beds with bushes in, a circle of little bushes in the center and bushes all along the front wall. the garden was also curved as in went down at the sides so we wanted it all to be leveled and lawned. It was done by a local firm S.D Winson Landscape Gardens who transformed our back garden. All work was completed in a day and it looks great.

Before from the house to the road.
