Guess what?

I have made another card..that's my 3rd one this month..

This card was for my mate Pam (http://peejays-ramblings.blogspot.com/), Her birthday is today. The picture is from Kanban and I have matted and layered it on black and then silver card. It was then stuck on to a black card. The greeting is a silver peel off stuck on blacl card and layered onto silver card. I then tied a dark grey ribbon round it to finish it off.

We went out last night to the dogs for her birthday and she wasn;t going to open her cards but we made her open them.

It looks better in real lifeas the picturedoesn't show off the colour of the dress.

I saw these lady pictures and fell in love with them.

Lion King & London

Had a fab couple of days last week. Went to London on Thursday to see the Lion King. Had booked it via Lastminute.com. Deal was book a hotel room and get the theatre tickets free (the tickets were for the grand circle - lowest priced tickets). Too good a bargain to miss so booked 2 rooms (the other room was for our friends as part of their Christmas pressie). The hotel was in Paddington (Best Western Paddington Court). very nice hotel, rooms were lovely, had everything you wanted although we did have trouble with the lights... but we got it sorted.. eventually!
We jumped on the tube and went to the theatre. The tickets that we got were actually in the Royal Circle and excellent.
The show was fabulous - for those of you that haven't seen it, it is very emotional at the beginning. Cyd, my friend, cried!
On Friday we decided to go siteseeing and we wanted to go to Harrods. We decided to walk there which was fine except we walked the wrong way for about 10mins :-), this was down to Gaz reading the map wrong..lol. We got there eventually. I love Harrods.
When we got back I checked up to see what the ordinary price of the Royal Circle tickets were and they range from £55 - £66. We got the hotel and the tickets for £56 each!! A definite bargain!

Another Card!!

Well who would have believed it. Another card!! This is for my great niece who will be 6 next week. The topper is a fairie poppet decoupage. I have fallen in live with these fairies. I think they are really cute.
The decoupage topper is matted onto pale pink pearlecent paper which has gone through the swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder. Then stuck onto a pearlescent white card. 4 gems stuck on the 4 corners.
Silver 'happy birthday' stickers put on the edges and Olivia's name was coloured with pink peel off pens.

New Year, New Start

Well..... it has been a long time since I have updated my blog. Lots of things have been happening like my holiday in Florida, cruise to the Bahamas, illness & Christmas, but i am hoping this year to complete this regularly and make some cards to show on here.

The holiday was great although Florida was having a bit of a weather problem and the temperature was a good 10 - 15 degrees lower than it normally is but we still had fun. We had a cruise down to the Bahamas which was lovely. The weather was beautiful. We stopped at the Bahamas - Nassau which is a lovely town and very colourful. The next day we sailed to Coco Cay, which is Royal Carribeans own desert island.

It was just that too. It was just as a desert Island should be. The third day we visited Key West which was a lovely place. Not much there but it does have the southern most point of the USA. Also home to Hemmingway.
During the cruise we had a formal evening where everyone os asked to dress up. This was the first time I have seen my hubby dressed in a tux. He did look very handsome.
Coming back from the hols was hard as it normall has been and very busy at work. I didn't even make nay cards for Christmas although I did have some from last year. I was also ill over christmas and new year with this dreaded flu/chest/cough viral infection thing. Still have a slight cough now but feeling heaps better then I did.
I have decided to start making some cards this year. To start with here is my first one.
The image was a stamp from my friend Pam (http://peejays-ramblings.blogspot.com/ramblings.blogspot.com/) She came over to my place for a bit of crafting and we did some stamping. Something I am still learning. I stamped the image onto card and then stamped it onto patterned paper, then decoupaged the paper on the stamped image. (This was a technique that we learnt from a class at the Craft Barn.). I then cut the card and rounded the edges. I coloured the edges with a marvey le plume pen and mounted it onto some blue card. I used a 5in x 7in white pearlescent card with the edge cuttlebugged with the new edging embossing folders, This one was swiss dots. Finished off with some peel offs and sticky ribbon.
It's for my friends birthday so I hope she likes it.

Ok well thats it for my first post and hopefully another one will follow soon.
