Birthday Card

Happy bank holiday to you all. Can't believe that we are nearly into September..where is this year going.

Card I have to show you today is a good staple male card, this one I made for my nephew. The 'Happy Birthday' image is a Woodware big word stamp. I love this stamp, so versatile. The backing paper is from my stash and the 'Happy Birthday' was stamped onto it and cut out. The card candy was made from the backing card as is the word 'nephew'.

My Baby is 30!

Today is my youngest son's birthday. He is 30. Where has that time gone!!  He is having a party tomorrow but today we took him and his fiancee out to lunch. Here they both are.

I deigned his card on CAP. The picture in the zero as one taken when he was nearly 2. We had gone camping and he thought he was cool in his sleep suit and sunglasses at about 9 pm. :-)

There will be more embarrassing pictures on his cake tomorrow :-) .

Bee Happy!

A few weeks ago we made the following cards at Clair & Sharni's workshop. These little bees are so cute. We used a mixture of dies and stamps and unfortunately I can't remember which ones. I think they may be MFT but not certain.

As you can see from the second picture I made a bit of a boo boo when putting my card together.. :-)

Eclipse Card

The card I have to show you today is an eclipse card that I made for my brother in law.  I haven't made many of these but I do love the effect of them so watch this space, there will be some more :-)

This one was made using kraft card and backing paper from my stash. I cut the letters using a 5cm alphabet. The letters are backed with funky foam. The 'happy birthday' was cut from a die and the card candy was made using the kraft card.

Eclipse cards are great for mens' cards. You can use smaller alphabet if the name is longer.

Decoupage Car

Card I have to show you this evening is going back to me using up my stash. This decoupage (pirimarge) image is from a sheet called 'Wacky Races' from La Pashe. Love these little toppers. Have just matted them on red & black card and added some card candy.

Workshop Cards

Just going through my card pictures and realised that I hadn't shared these cards with you. These are cards that I made a few months ago at Claire & Sharni's workshop

They were made using Altenew stencils and ink blending using Tim Holtz inks.

I have never been comfortable using stencils and inks but I really enjoyed doing these. The black die cut words and inking really make the cards stand out. Will definitely be trying this again.

Old Cards made New

Today's cards are a couple that I made sometime ago that were put away. I brought them back out and added a few things.

This first card was made at a workshop a few years ago. Just added some gems to the butterflies which brought it to life.

This card I made for a challenge. Not sure which stamp the image is from but iI know it was coloured using promarkers. The card base is round with paper flowers.

60th Birthday Card

Today's card was made at Linda's workshop a couple of months ago. It is made using sequins, in blue of course :-)

I thought it would be ideal for a friend's 60th birthday so I stamped 60th on the card and sent it off. Unfortunately I sent it to her old address so she never actually got to receive it. As soon as I posted it I knew I had sent it to the wrong one, but there was nothing I could do.

Selection of Cards

Good evening, I hope you have all had a good day. I have 3 cards to show you today, all of which were made up at Appleby Magna. This was our 10th year so all these cards had an element of tin in them. (Tin foil actually :-) )

This card was used with alcohol inks on tin foil to create the background. Love the effect of this as 2 backgrounds never come out the same.

This card is a Christmas one, obviously. The panel has been cut using tin foil. The flowers are 3d which you can't see in the photo.

This card was made with think tin foil and then embossed.  A great and simple men's card.

Used everything from the kit. The image is decoupaged. The card candy was made using some of the backing card.
