Clair & Sharni's Workshop 24/08/17

Went to Clair & Sharni's workshop yesterday and we made a couple of really cute Christmas cards.

For Clair's card we used a lot of dies and then just layered them up. Dies were Lawn Fawn - Forest Border, stitched mountain border, stitched hillside borders, Sue Wilson - Pierced Noble Squares.
The Penguin  is from Wild Rose Stamps and is sooooooooooo cute!! I had to buy him. Can be found here. The greeting is from Lawn Fawn - Merry Messages.  These can also be bought from https://www.cs-getcrafty.com

Sharni's card was also made using stamp from Wild Rose and can be purchased here. The background was done using nuvo embellishment mousse and a stencil from Memory Box . the merry is from Lawn Fawn and also used MFT Stitched Snow Drifts.

Son's Birthday

Yesterday was my youngest son's birthday. He was 29 (always be my baby though :-) ) . He wanted fish and chips for his birthday meal so we got some and then he had cake. Even Roxy decided she wanted some :-)
Here is the card that I made him. Using the Woodware 'Happy Birthday' stamp (Love this stamp :-) ) Backing paper was from a pad that I have. Stamped the image on to the card and then paper pieced it with the same paper used for the backing.

Birthday boy and his cake!

'Daddy here is my bowl ready for my piece of cake' :-)

'mmmmmmmmm scrummy!!'

Tuesday Morning Sketches - 413

Today has been my best friends birthday and we have been out and about today. When asked what she wanted to do she said that she wanted to go down to the sea front, go on the pier and go on the 2p machines and then have fish and chips, so that is what we did. :-)

Yesterday I had a few hours up in my craft room and made several cards. I have several anniversary cards to make so here is one of them. I have followed the sketch over on Tuesday Morning Sketches here.

Here is the sketch

Here is my card.

I have flipped the sketch round. The image has been coloured with promarkers.

Brother In Law's 60th Birthday

Yesterday was my brother in law's 60th birthday. Him, my sister and their kids have gone away for the week to celebrate and are having a great time. (I hope!! ;-) )

Here is the card that I made him. It is a 'pop & twist' card. The papers used are from a 6 x 6 paper pad I got from The Works. The 'happy birthday' is one that I borrowed - the card was made when I was up in Appleby Magna on my crafty week away. The '60' is from Stampin Up numbers.

For the inside I used Tim Holtz Blueprint stamp set. Great for men's cards.

Baby Shower

I have just returned from a lovely weekend in Southend with friends visiting their family. Whilst up there we went to a baby shower - my friend's niece is pregnant. First time that I have been to a baby shower!! I find it all a bit strange though, maybe because I am a bit superstitious and don't think things should be bought for the baby until it is born!! Well we had a good time anyway.

Here is the card that I made for her and her partner. Using Crafters Companion Be Bunny. Cute paper crafting kit.

Workshop Cards from Yesterday

Yesterday I had my fortnightly workshop with Clair & Sharni. This eek we made cards using the Neat & Tangled stamp set called Bloom. Lovely big font and lovely flowers, very little colouring is needed but very bold.

Clair's card was a folded card. Looks complicated bit as long as you get the scoring correct and the measurements it all comes together quite quickly.

With Sharni's card, we created a distress inked panel.

Heart Canvas

So I was having a play around in my craft room. i am trying to come up with things other than cards that I can sell in my Etsy Shop here . I have had these little flowers for ages, have used some on a couple of cards but I had some left over that I wanted to used. So I have created a heart with them onto canvas. The wooden word comes from a packet I bought in The Works.

This can now be bought in my shop here

Freshly Made Sketches challenge 299

Finally managed an afternoon in my craft room today where I made 2 cards off mt long list for August. The first card I made was one of those dreaded men's cards we all hate to do! Actually I don't mind them. For this card i decided to follow the sketch over on Freshly Made Sketches here. I do like a good sketch!

Here is the sketch

Here is my take on the sketch.

For my card I used a 7 x 7 card blank which I embossed using Crafters Companion Embossing folder called 'distress'. The happy birthday die is one that I got from China and I love it :-). The circles were cut using Little B circle dies. Backing card and paper are from my stash.
