Linda's April Workshop

How cold has it been these last few days, brrrr!!! Almost May and I went out today in a thick jumper and boots!!! Lets hope the warmer weather comes soon..

Yesterday it was Linda's monthly workshop and we made a couple of lovely cards. I really enjoyed doing these and will definitely be making this style again. Linda showed us how to do the workings of the card and we could decorate it Another couple of men's cards for my box.

Loved the alphabet dies we used on the card but they are just a little bit expensive!!!!!!

Birthday card and present

Been absent for a week as took my grandson on holiday to the Isle of Wight. We had a lovely week but more of that later.

Whilst I was away it was my great niece's birthday. She was 5 and like most 5 year olds she loves Disney princesses. I was a bit stumped for a card but then my niece (Maisies' mum) posted a picture of her birthday cake that my nephew was making for her and it was a Princess Aurora cake so there was only one Princess I could do.

I got the image off of the internet and the greeting was computer generated in CAP. Backing paper was from my stash as was the ribbon and gems. I always have real difficulty with my bows but was really pleased with how this one turned out!

For her present I used a MDF heart, covered it in patterned paper, added pink flower buttons and gems. Scrabble letters were added along with a ribbon bow and paper flower.

It's been over a week.....

....... since I last blogged but I haven't really had much to blog. :-(

I have been in my craft room this week trying to do a card for a great niece and making her a pressie which I have done now but I can't post it until after her birthday which isn't until next week.

I did do a another workshop with Helen Winstone and we made another 3 lovely cards using Stampin Up High Tide and Beautiful You stamps.

The High Tide stamps would be great for male cards and I just love the stamps in the Beautiful You set.

Here are the cards.

I will not be posting until next weekend as we are going back to the Isle of Wight on Monday. We are taking my eldest grandson, Leon, over there for a few days.

What a beautiful day it has been today. A little chilly in the breeze but beautiful and sunny. I had my grandsons today. Well the little one this morning til 2.30 and then the older one from school.

Ollie was a cheeky as ever. We took him for a walk over the lock gates at Shoreham today which was very nice.

We took him back home and then went and picked Leon up from school, his last day before the Easter holidays. He was very excited as he his teacher had given him an easter egg. he also had been given some tomato seeds which he has planted as per the picture. :-). Nanny will have to see if she can keep them alive!!

Helen's Workshop - 1st April 2017

Ok so I am almost caught up I think...had Clair & Sharni's workshop today and we made 2 lovely cards but I will post them on my next post.

This post is all about Helen's workshop on Saturday afternoon. We used the Stampin Up Beautiful You stamp set which I am really liking and may even purchase them as i love the images.

We made 3 fairly easy cards using different techniques - stamping, colouring and paper piecing. Love the colours we used.

Tomorrow I am looking after 'The Hurricane' formally known as my youngest grandson Ollie, in the morning and the older one when he finishes school. I will be a knackered bunny by the evening :-)

Linda's Workshop - 30th March

Last Thursday I went to my first workshop with Linda Goble. We used the Stampin Up Succulent Framelits Dies to make these lovely items.

My flower pot was only 50p from Asda but add the flowers to it and i think it looks great. The bauble looks good to. The white box is a t-light holder (the battery operated ones obviously!! :-) )

I really enjoyed doing this class and look forward to the next one. :-)

60th Birthday Card

At the moment I am trying to loose weight. I did loose just over 4 and half stone and was at my lowest weight (and a stone away from target) about 2 years ago. However over the past 2 years I have put on a stone back on which I am not happy with. I am doing lots pf walking and hopefully will be doing more now the nice weather is coming - hopefully. I want to get back to my lowest and a bit more! So to help me out I have decided to give up one thing each month staring in April with biscuits! They are my weakness so wish me luck!! I will keep you informed and how my weight is going. I weigh myself on a Saturday morning. However just to let you know I did fail on the first day and had a biscuit without even thinking!! Opps!!

Day 1 - fail (1 biscuit)
Day 2 - no biscuits

Been quite a busy week craft wise this week. Have been to 2 craft workshops (posts to follow),

I have also started cross stitching again to try and get me off my lap top :-) . Am doing a baby afghan with an alphabet of Winnie the Pooh and Friends. Here is a picture so far.

I was also asked by my friend to make a 60th birthday card for one of her work colleagues. Here is the card that I came up with.

I used a 7 x 7 white card blank
Martha Stewart Frame boarder punch - Floral Tile
Stampin Up - Number of Years Stamps and dates
Versafine Black Ink
Momento Ink - London Fog
Altnew Stamps - Persian Motifs coloured with Promarkers
Papermania Capsules paper pad
WRMK Presison Press
