Holiday, Niece's 40th Birthday Card & a Challenge Card

I have just got back from a lovely week on the Isle of Wight, my favourite place. The holiday was very relaxing. Going to the Island is like stepping back in time by about 20 years. Hubby and I did quite a bit of walking which we loved, even when there was thick fog and you couldn't see a hand in front of you. :-)

My view every morning.

I also have a card to show you. I belong to a facebook group called Clair & Sharni get Crafty and the monthly challenge this month was to follow a sketch.

Here is the sketch

Here is my card

The card is for my niece who will be 40 next month. The backing has been done on CAP , just matted and layered onto black card. The image is from Acid Drops and Whatnots - I just love these toppers and stamps. The greeting is from my stash.

First Workshop of 2017

I did tell myself that I will blog more regularly this year and I will try at least once a week if I can :-) I am trying to get some time up in my craft room to make more cards and other crafty things so watch this space.

Today I am showing you a couple of cards from Clair's first workshop. This year she is doing something a bit different. We will be making 2 cards per workshop, one designed by Clair and one by her daughter Sharni. We used the delightfully cute elephant stamps from MFT. They are so cute and I love the simple cards that we made with them.

First Challenge of the Year

Well what a week I have had and it's only Thursday. Firstly my laptop decided to die on me which was a pain as I am trying to finish my 2015 year book. Luckily all my work is on an external hard drive but still a pain. That needed a new hard drive so lost what I had on the laptop which wasn't much but still a pain that I lost it. Then my hoover decided to pack up so had to buy a new one. I was waiting for the third thing to happen but remembered that our TV went kaput 3 days before Christmas so we had to get a new one. Please nothing else go wrong!

Another reason I was so peeved off with my computer was that I had done a card to enter in my first challenge of the year and thought I wouldn't be able to get it in on time however luckily I can :-)

The challenge is a sketch over on Sketch Saturday here. The card is for an old friends' 50th birthday later this month.

Here is the sketch

Here is my card.

4 days into the new year and I still haven't done any blogging! I ill try to get it up to date I promise!!

Anyway whilst I am still trying to sort out piccies from my holiday and Christmas here are a couple from my son's girlfriend's birthday which was on 1st Jan. Jodie is a little bit obsessed (well a lot really ) with  Alice in Wonderland :-)

A friend of her's who is a cake maker made her her cake of the Mad Hatter's Hat. The cake was fabulous as you can see from the picture.

Here is my son and Jodie prior to going out.

Here is the card that I made her for her birthday. Alice of course.
