Family Saturday

Have had a lovely day today. Relaxing morning and then this afternoon went out to dinner with the family - hubby, 2 sons, their partners, my grandson, my mother in law and her friend. Hubby is off tomorrow on a weeks golfing holiday and mother in law is going back to France so was last chance that we all got together. Meal was lovely.

The card I am showing you today was made a couple of days ago. It's an 8ins x 8ins card. The backing card is from my stash as is the kraft card. The left hand panel has been embossed with 'happy birthday' folder and the topper on the right is from Hunkydory's manly toppers. The ribbon is a piece of the dark brown backing paper and then added 3 buttons from my stash.

Latest Card Club Cards

Had a lovely day today with my grandson. Have him Wednesdays, pick him up from play group and then we go off on our adventures. Today we went off to a place called The Flying Fortress - a huge soft play area. He had fun, me? I'm just knackered!! :-)

Today I would like to show the cards I made at a recent card club that I attend. All cards are made with Stampin Up stuff. Quick easy cards. My favourite is the middle one on the top row.

Tuesday Morning Sketches

Well the weather today has been decidedly chilly and very windy, So the best place to be was indoors and in my craft room.

My niece graduated from college yesterday on America. She went over there 3 years ago on a soccer scholarship. We are all very proud of her and what she has achieved. Here is the card that I have made for her.

I have followed this weeks sketch on Tuesday Morning Sketches here.

My card is a 6ins x 6ins square card blank. The backing papers are from a Bouffle pad. The image is from Pink Gem that I found in my files ready coloured, cut with Spellbinders labels 10 and chalked around the edge to take the starkness of the white away. The greeting is computer generated also chalked around the edge to soften it. Added some card candy to finish it off.

My Boy's Birthdays

Today is my husband's and grandson's birthday. Leon is 4 today... where has that time gone??

He loves Thomas so when it came to his card it had to be Thomas of course! The background and writing was all done in CAP. The Thomas image is actually a chipboard embellishment that I had given to me. Leon loved it :-)

For his birthday, his main present was a scooter. He has been on about getting one for ages. Of course it had to be a Thomas one which as you can see from the picture he loved.

Here is a picture of the boys with their birthday cake.

Great Grandma came over from France to celebrate the birthday.

Here are the birthday boys enjoying a quiet read with one of Leon's new books.

This evening when Leon had gone home we went out to the local all you can eat Chinese and celebrated Hubby's birthday. Here he is with his cake.

We are home now and I am stuffed and knackered but had a really good day and evening.

Freshly Made Sketches

Today I have been busy in my craft room making 2 cards. The one I am showing today is for my husband's birthday which is next week. We all know that men's card are a pain. I don't know why because there are some lovely things about to make male cards.

For this card I went to Pintrest like many of us for inspiration and I found a card that I liked which was a bit different to the ones I always do which always seem to do with golf :-)

Whilst looking through the challenge blogs I came across the sketch on Freshly Made Sketches which fitted the card exactly.

Here is the sketch

Here is my card.

I have used a 5 x 7 card blank, dark brown backing card & Kraft card from my stash. The Kraft card was embossed using 'Woodgrain' folder from Darice. Scraps of card used for the banners. Greeting is computer generated, cut with spellbinders classic rectangles and mini pearls to finish it off. The greeting was printed onto white card so I dusted it with brown chalk to tone in.

Last weeks workshop card

Here is the card that we made at workshop last week. It is a 'flip card'. It was made the old fashioned way with a die. I enjoyed making this and will be using the procedure again.

The background has been stamped using 'Petite Petals'. The other stamp set is a Stampin up one 'Big Day' which I really liked. I coloured mine with promarkers. The word 'cake' has been coloured using 'ombre' method which I had never heard of until Thursday :-) .

Another card & another challenge

Can't believe that it's May already. Where has the first quarter of the year gone? Seems that the summer has disappeared and the cold weather has returned just in time for May day weekend. Oh well never mind, maybe more time in the craft room :-)

My card today is one that I have made for my great nephew whose birthday is at the end of this month.
I have followed the sketch over on this weeks challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches

and have used this weeks theme at Cuttlebug Mania which is 'Use a Stamp'.  Not sure where I got the stamp from but ideal for my great nephew. Coloured it in with my promarkers. Cut the topper out with Spellbinders curved rectangles. Edged with black promarker. The football backing paper was found recently while clearing my craft room :-). The black card is from my stash. The red card was from my bit box. finished off with card candi and black twine.
