Some Christmas Cards

Well after being woken up this morning at 5 o'clock by a hailstone & thunder storm, it has been a much cooler day today then it has been the last few days. Today I have been sorting out a few cards to put on my new Etsy shop here. The following Christmas cards are on for sale in my shop.:-)

Crafting Day Makes

Well another hot day today with a torrential rain & thunder storm thrown in for 10 mins today although have to say that it is a little bit cooler tonight, not much but a little.

On Saturday I went to a crafting day to celebrate Clair's birthday. She had 12 cards for us to make. I managed to make 4 during the day and prepped the others which I will be making when I get chance :-).
Here are the 4 that I did manage to make on the day.

I love this card. The colours are gorgeous. I love the yellow, black a,d white combo. The flowers are also handmade and I am very pleased with how they turned out. I also love the layout of this one.

This is such a cute image - stamp from LOTV I think. The bear is coloured with promarkers. Must learn to blend a bit better.

This one is done with a stamp and then embossing folder over the image.

This is also a lovely summery card. Random flowers stamped on the background. The greeting is stamped on another piece of card.

Card Workshop today & some more from my crafty week...

Ok, well I love the hot weather but even this is too hot for me!! It would be different if I had a pool to jump into but I don't..so doors all open, windows open, ceiling fan on in lounge and floor fan and I am just about coping... shouldn't complain I know but I'm not really it's just too blooming hot!! :-)

Right enough of the weather, onto my card today (or cards!!) Today I went to my fortnightly craft workshop - had a day crafting on Saturday for Clair's birthday. Cards will be posted soon! - The card we made was using a new Stampin up stamp of a peacock. Wasn't too bothered about the stamp until I used it. Lovely stamp to colour. The card is an A5 card, coloured with copics (not very well) and then matted and layered up. Love the colours. Very elegant I think.

Right here are some more cards that I made during my crafty week. Made quite a few :-)

This card is a moving card , the ladies bottoms wiggle. Love the card although the image should have been stuck on with foam pads for ease of movement but I didn't do that. Opps!

This card was Kim's project. The flowers are made out of packaging (spellbinders packaging!) The flowers are then inked up with alcohol inks and shaped using a heat gun.

Card made using patterned paper and stamped greeting.

This was Deb's project. The backing paper is patchwork stuck on a piece of card and then embossed. Stamped greeting and a tulle bow.

The above 2 cards were made using Tilly Daydream decoupage sheets with ribbon, gems and greetings added to finish the cards off.

No card making today but here are a few things and cards that were made on my crafting week.

Bracelet (really sparkly),  bookmark angel made from gems and a beautiful star made from sparkly gems.

Sad Day

Tuesday this week was a very sad day as we said goodbye to my cousin David. He had passed away the previous week. He had Altzeimers. He was diagnosed 6 years ago. I hadn't seen him in a couple of years as it was too upsetting for me. He had been like a father to me. He would have been 68 in August!

Here is a picture of him and me at my 21st. We were both a bit merry after my party! This is how I will remember him as a fun loving man that always made me smile when I saw him.

Leon & Thomasland

My grandson, Leon is mad about Thomas and his friends so hubby and I decided to take him up to Thomasland  at Drayton Manor. We picked him up on Thursday after playschool and drove up there. We never told him where we were going so when we arrived at Thomasland in the morning he was very excited.

We had a great day and Leon was very good - mostly!! - he got very excited when he saw Percy pulling the train as he is his favorite. Here are a couple of piccys for you to see. I have done him a mini photobook of all the pictures but I won't bore you with those!
Here is one of the professional pictures we had taken.

Here is Leon and 'The Fat Controller (what he calls Grandad) meeting the real 'Fat Controller'.

Having a ride on Terence the Tractor. (These were like go carts but he hadn't quite got the knack of steering! )

Busy Busy Busy

...that's what I have been over the past few weeks. The time has just flown by and I can't believe that we are in July already & coming up to the middle of it... still it's always good to be busy.

Since my last post I have been away on a girly week away at Appleby Magna - 6th year of going this time but majority of us did a week which was great. I didn't take too many pics this time but I did do a lot of crafting and will be posting the pics over the next few days. Hubby and I also went up to London for the day, having afternoon tea at Harrods (christmas pressies from my sister) - pictures will follow - and also went to see The Bodyguard (theatre tickets were also pressie from friend).

We also had a trip up to Drayton Manor near Birmingham to take my grandson to ThomasLand. He is obsessed with Thomas and the trains and we had a lovely time. Again will post pictures in a different post. :-)

I do have a card to show you. It is one of the many cards that I made on my Crafty week away. It is a card made from Docrafts Tilly Daydream kit.

Recipe:-
Decoupage image and patterned backing paper from Docrafts
Red backing card, greeting and ribbon all came from the stuff that the girls bought up with them to use.
The card blank was mine! :-)

The card was ideal for my great niece whose birthday was last week.
