My Shoebox Card

Here is my 'shoebox' card that I made for this year's Appleby Magna.

I used a square card blank, coloured card and white card. the whit card was embossed on the top and bottom and straight line embossed along the centre. Message was stamped on white card and cut with nesties and matted onto coloured card cut with scalloped circle nestie.. Ribbon was added and gems.
Simple card but very effective and can be done in many colours.

Appleby Magna 2012

On the 14th June a group of us girls went off on our annual crafty house party up at Upper Rectory Farm Cottages in Appleby Magna. This year there was only 9 of us including me, Debs(who organised it this year), Jackie, Cathy, Greta, Kim, Trace, Pam and Toni. This was the 4th year that we have gone up to the cottages and I have to say that this was the best. I haven't laughed so much for ages. We also managed to do a little crafting too.

We normally do 'shoebox' cards. Each person makes a card and makes packs up with all the materials for each person to do the same. We had a couple of people that just brought papers, decoupage papers etc for us to take and make something with. Here are the 'shoebox' card packs of actual cards made.

Cathy's card.
The embossed background was done with an embossing folder. The scalloped rectangle was then cut from it and the image was stamped onto the off cut and coloured in using promarkers. The off cut was then cut with a straight edge nestie and stuck on foam pads. I loved this stamp and stamped quite a few.

Debs Card
This card was from a pack that Deb's brought with her. The cards are made with peel offs stuck on coloured card & paper to form a picture. I thought the bee was quite cute.

Kim's Card
Nice bright card from Kim. I think I think the papers are from Stampin up but don't quote me on that. :-)
The 'chocolate toppings' on the ice cream are done with glaze. Lovely colours. I do like brown and pink together.

Trace's card
The card blank was already folded and we just had to stick the backing papers on. We then had to cut the images out. Great for a man's card.

This is the other side of the swing bit.

I will show you more cards in future posts.

June Birthdays

Well I did say in a previous post that I had 4 birthdays this month. I cheated on 3 of the birthdays and used cards from my box but here is a new one I made.

The image is a 'flippin men' image from La Pashe. I had used the front view on an earlier card and as I am trying to use up my stash I thought I had better use the back image. The card and backing paper were from my stash as well as the buttons. the greeting is from Craftwork cards matted onto a scalloped oval from a stampin up punch.

3 Anniversaries in June

Along with the 4 birthdays this month I also have 3 anniversaries to make for so I had to come up with 3 different cards. Here are what I have come up with.

I loved this first card. The image is decoupaged and come from the 'Golden Oldie' range. I have had it made up for sometime and then just thought it was ideal for an anniversary card. The card is a large 8x8 card. Backing card comes from my stash. The backing paper came from a Daisy & Dandelion pad. The flower and pearls came from my stash. the greeting is a stamped image tied on with ribbon.

This is a smaller square card. The backing paper is from a pack from Craftwork cards .The pink mat has been cut using a nestie and then put through the swiss dots embossing folder. The image was a pre 3d image and the hearts and gems were also in the same pack. The greeting also came from the same set.

This easel card has been made by everything in my stash. I have made an easel card, used nesties for the main image. The greeting is from LOTV stamp set. Very simple card but easy.

Congratulations Card

My youngest son's girlfriend qualified as a teacher last year and since November has been working at a local school on a temporary basis. She had to apply for a permanent job there a couple of weeks ago and has just been told that she has got it. Here is the quick card that I made for her.

The image is from a set I bought from Create & Craft recently. (I succumbed to spending as they were doing free p&p!!) Backing paper came from a pack from papermaina. The pink card that the image is sitting on was from my stash and I ran it through the cuttlebug. The greeting came from the same set as the bear. The flower and gem in the middle, comes from my stash. The scalloped card blank comes from Craftwork Cards.
