Last one for March

Had a lovely afternoon today looking after Leon while Grandad took Mummy and Daddy shopping. As the weather was so lovely we went for a walk to the park and had a ride on the swings. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera but he loved the swings.

Here is my card for today. The last one for March. This was a very quick card. The backing paper is from Daisy and Dandelion I think, The flower is from my stash as is the backing card. The Forever friends image is a bought one. Quick but effective.

I am going away tomorrow for a few days so will not be blogging but will be back Friday.

Had a busy day today

My son and his girlfriend moved into their new flat today and we all helped them move. It started early this morning when hubby had to take them to the estate agents to sign the papers and and pay the 6 weeks rent required.
I went up with him to look after Leon as they didn't want to worry about him. He was very good and it was nice to see him again.
This afternoon Hubby was working but my other son, my friend and several of my son's friends moved them from their old place. The new flat is beautiful, newly refurbished and light and airy. A much better place for my grandson to live in.

Now to my card today. Another card for a March birthday which I made yesterday. The backing card is textured. The light paper is from Stampin Up, the flowery paper is from Kay & Company. Flower, ribbon and gems are all from my stash. I can't remember where I got the image from. Of course the greeting is from Craftwork cards.

The greeting is from Craftwork Cards. The image is from paper nation decoupage. The flower is from The Works.

Mother's Day Cards

I don't like Mother's day as I always think of my dear Mum who is no longer here but I do have a Mother in law that I have to make for and here is the card that I have made.

The card blank was from Kanban, a special offer that C&C had over Christmas. the backing paper is from Kay & Company. The decoupage flowers are from my topper box. It is mounted on card that has been cut with nesties. The braiding is from my stash and the greeting (although you can't really see it in the picture) is from Craftwork Cards.

Now on to March Birthdays's

Well I am now onto March's birthday's so I am doing well.

I have used a decoupage flower here from Imag-e-nation that I bought years ago and made up years ago. The backing paper is from Kay & Company, the pad that I got from Doncaster last year. The blue card, ribbon, bow and gems are all from my stash. The greeting is a stamp from Lily of the Valley.

Trying to get ahead of myself!

I am trying to get ahead of myself and make all the birthday and anniversary cards that I need to make for this year. Whether it will happen or not is another matter but here are the first 2. Still using my stash up. :-)

This card is using a decoupage topper that I had. Designer paper is from Stampin up (I think!). Can't remember where I got the decoupage sheet from. Card is Bazzill Bling and buttons are from my stash. The greeting is from Craftwork Cards.

This is a Kanban wobbler. These are so easy to do and great for kids birthdays. This is for my son's partner's daughter - my soon to be step granddaughter I suppose :-) who is 5 next week.

I love this sketch...

I got the stuff for this card from Greta as she had a spare pack. I love the colour ways of this and I have done the card a bit different to the previous one. All I added to it was the think green ribbon from my stash and the greeting which I think came from a pack I bought from Craftwork Cards.

Missing card from the Glitterpot class

Remember my earlier post about the recent class I took at the Glitterpot and I took a naff picture of one of the cards. Well here it is, better picture this time..

The stamp used is Musical Print from Hobby Art. Stamped onto white card and then distressed using Tim Holtz distress ink. The violin was decoupaged, stamped onto sticky acetate and covered in gold flecks. (well I can't remember exactly what the stuff is called but that's near enough!) Another card that i really liked and may do again.

Greta's playday 14th Feb 2012

On Tuesday, Greta invited us to her place for a play day. There was 6 of us in total including Greta and we had a great day. It was a good day of laughs, chat, drinking tea, eating a lovely lunch and oh yeah a bit of card making :-).

Greta had 2 projects for us and Debs and Elaine both brought projects for us to do also. Here are the cards that I made.

This is a C6 card. Blue backing paper was stuck onto gold mirri card. The topper was from a kit and when you pull the tab it shows another picture. Took some thinking on how to get it to work but got there in the end. A bit of ribbon and card candy was added to finish it off.

I love the colours of this card and Greta sorted it just for me cause I have a thing about blue. The flowers are beautiful and I definitely need to get me some of the big flowers. :-). The backing papers are also gorgeous. The card was done from a sketch, I just added the squares and rectangles in a different way. Ribbon and card candy were added to finish it off. I may add a greeting at a later date.

This is a large 8 x 8 card. I know it's a Christmas one but you can never be too early to start them!! Black and green card were matted onto the card. The patterned paper is actually a serviette wrapped around card to strengthen it. 2 of the poinsettias are decoupaged. They were cut out of another serviette and stuck on acetate to strengthen them. A piece of ribbon was wrapped round. The greeting was stamped and cut using nesties. A beautiful card, easy to do but very elegant.

This is Elaine's card. She had cut out all the layers for us and stamped the image. I coloured the image using promarkers. Elaine had used flower soft for the grass but I have just coloured it. The writing was freehand. Pleased with how it turned out!

Leon Today

I had a great day at Greta's playday yesterday but more about that in another post once I have taken piccys of the cards I made :-)

Today I had Little Man here and he was as gorgeous as ever. He is really getting around now and all he wants to do is stand, won't be long until he is walking me thinks!

We had a bit of an accident - a smashed coffee table! I have 3 glass net of tables and Leon grabbed one today - the smallest one - and it fell and smashed into a thousand pieces (and I am not exaggerating!!). Luckily Leon had grabbed it from the side and not straight on so the glass missed him. I just picked him up and put him in his high chair and cleaned up the glass. I couldn't believe how it had smashed in so many pieces.

I took a lot of pictures of him today as normal and here are a couple of the better ones.

This has captured him so well - he is so cheeky and look at those teeth! He is teething again at the moment, hence the dribble.
This ine was just after his bath. Butter wouldn't melt!!!

Glitterpot Class - 9th February 2012

On Thursday I attended a craft class at The Glitterpot with some of my friends for the forum I belong to. The class was taken by Jenny Mayes and we did men's cards using Hobby Art stamp sets.

This card was made using the Butterfly Kisses - Nautical Set. We used Tim Holtz distress ink (only ever done that once) and I really enjoyed doing it. I really liked the effect of this technique and would like to use it again (but don't hold your breath!!)

This card was done using the Coastal Wildlife - Clear Set. The sky and the sand are both done using distress ink. The sea was done using aqua markers. Then we stamped randomly the puffins, seagulls, rocks and grass. Again I really like the effect of this one.

This card was done using Butterfly Kisses - Far Away. The sky and the sand, again were done using distress ink . Then the boats were stamped on the card, then the groins were stamped and the fence. The boat on the left is decoupaged. They were coloured using promarkers. Another card that I wouldn't have dreamed of doing but enjoyed.
There is a 4th card which I will show you later only the picture I took was crap and I need to take another one in daylight.

My Little boy is 9 months old next week

Just thought I would update you all on Leon who will be 9 months old next week. Where has that time gone. I have him every Wednesday and I love my time with him.

He is now crawling and is everywhere and so quick. He is still a very happy little boy and now very vocal!! All he wants to do is stand so I don't think it will be long before he is walking.

Here is is standing at the stairs - next purchase - a stair gate
Here is is fast asleep on our bed. I thought he looked so cute!!

Using more decoupage toppers..

Here is another card that I have made using another decoupage topper from the box I have made up. This time a lady card.

I think the decoupage came from Imag-e-nation site years ago. There will be more cards with flowers coming :-)

All other elements have come from my stash and I also used my nestabilities and swiss dots embossing folder.

On Wednesday I had Leon for the day and yesterday I had a lovely crafting day at the Glitterpot with some good friends. Pictures will follow.

Hands up who likes doing Men's cards????

I don't for one!! Even though there are some lovely male themed items out on the market to help us.

Here are a couple of cards I made over the weekend using some of the decoupage topper I have made in the past and are put in a huge box 'to use at a later time' :-)

The first card was made using a Paper Nation topper. The football themed papers are from 'It's a Man's World' paper pack. The green card was from my stash and the greeting is from Craftwork cards.

The following 2 cards are made from car decoupage images that I believe I got from La Pashe but I may be wrong! The backing papers I believe came from Stampin Up. The backing plain card was from my stash as were the buttons, although I think they came from Michaels in Florida. The greetings, of course are from Craftwork cards.

Using stuff from my stash..

I have decided this year that I am going to use up my crafting stash that I have and try (please note that I have said 'try') and not buy anything new!!!! (Wonder how long that will last! hehehehe!)
Anyway on that route here are a few cards that I've made over the last couple of days.

All the images used are Penny Black stickers that I bought years ago at The Craft Barn. I remember buying them and thinking they would make quick and simple cards but just never got round to it till now! The backing card, gems, flower etc all come from my stash. The greeting on the blue card comes from Craftwork cards (I love these greetings) and the 'congratulations' stamp is one from a 'boys only' set.

Well I thought it was about time...

That I blogged again. Haven't really felt like it over the last few weeks. Had a lovely Christmas as we had Leon and it was lovely. Definitely made Christmas.

I came down with this virus on the Tuesday after Christmas and some 5 and 1/2 weeks later still have the remnants of it. Runny nose and cough so haven't really felt like blogging or making cards.

However I did make a couple for the forum that I belong to. We had a sketch to follow and here are my offerings.

I got the image on this card from another card that was shop bought. The paper, card and gems have all come from my stash. The flowers are from The Works and the greeting is from Craftwork cards.

This image is a decoupage from The Range. Paper, card and rik rak ribbon all come from my stash. The card candy and greeting come from Craftwork Cards.
I have been making a few more cards this afternoon for my box.
